Dark red, hazy with a red head. The aroma and flavour are pure and very nice cherries, and it gives me the feeling of standing in the sun, eating a bit sour, but very nice, cherries right from the tree. There is nothing artificial about this one, I like it a lot.

i like rodenbach and i like sour cherry syrup...why not put them both together? it tastes just like the label says...rodenbach with cherry. if you drink this and expect it to taste otherwise you will be seriously disappointed. great to finish off a meal complimented with a chocolate souffle.

Bottle. Pour is a darkish red brown with a cotton candy colored head that dies back quickly. Aromas are of tart cherries. I’m just not sure how I feel about this one. On the one hand, it is kind of pleasant... but on the other, it is more like a cherry soda than a beer and there is a bit of a metallic note in the background that throws off any pleasantness in the aftertaste. Then again, it has a niced balanced cherry presence that is nice. Then again, at under 4% can I take it seriously?

Bottle. Extremely tart and SOUR...not so much cherry-flavored but something else. This must be an acquired taste. I would not drink it again.

Rated 9/12/06: Off the beaten path, I was slightly blown away by this beer. Tangy, sweet, sour and tart rolled together. My tastebuds were tickled by this great brew. Now this is my first flemish sour and it has real cherry juice blended in to it so I can’t judge this per the style but rather by my enjoyment. Mild sweet & sour aroma faint and subtle. Light mahagony with a light pink head, little lacing was left. Mouthfeel is perky and tart, absolutely different than any other I’ve had. Flavor is amazingly quenching. Very hard to describe it needs to be sampled personally. Almost like the homemade wine I remember my pops making. Unique and really good.

BB 01/02/07, assuming this is the best by date on this 11.2oz bottle. Pours a clear brownish red with a one finger pink head, low retention. Aroma of sweet cherry juice and light sour cherries up front, but I can still smell the regular Rodenbach in the background. Flavor is stronger slightly tart cherry juice along with a good amount of sweetness. There is some off rotten fruit acidity that I don’t associate with the aforementioned cherries. Mainly the taste is cherry juice. There is also slight paper. Moderate carbonation with a light body. A little too sweet and unbeery for myself, and I thing New Glarus’ Belgian Red is pretty darn good.

mmm...pretty good mouth-puckering juice! Deep purple pour with a little white fizz on top. Smells of cherrys and thats all. Taste like sparkling cherry juice. Not too syrupy. Almost as sour as Rodenbach orig.

This was a nice cherry juice and sour brown ale. It wasn’t complex, but the cherry juice is what the Rodenbach brown lacks. Fruity sour beer is always a nice treat. This beer went great with some grilled swordfish.
