Pours deep dark red, pink head. This was very different than the regular Rodenbach, it actually lost a lot of souriness compared to the regular version and the oak was completely gone. The cherry flavor was very good sweet but not very tart or sour, it just tasted damn good.

Bottle, Cheeries on the the nose with some sourness. Read good red color body with redish fizzy head head that disipated quickly. Flavor had a good fruity cherry and sweet tart and sour was a decent mix. Good fruit beer mild sour fruity aftertaste.

Clear neon cherry body with a loose, soda-like gray-pink head. Aroma of sweet cherries, light apple cider vinegar, and a note of blush wine. Flavor is lightly tart with medium-high sweetness. Light and juicy texture with some apparent syrup. This is basically insipid candy beer with just a shred of redeeming character. Not something that I need to revisit. Bring back Alexander for goodness sake!

The beer smells like cherry jolly ranchers. Definitely a kriek. What makes it bach though? The only flavor here is the cherry and though sickly sweet it has a nice sour finish to it. Good in small quantities. Tried at the Union Cabaret & Grille 3/1/07. Free sample.

By some good chance it’s what you might expect if you mix fruit juice with beer. It’s carbonated alcoholy fruit-juice-flavored pretty-pink-foamy-ring something-or-other, like maybe a light fruity summer wine/cooler I could get at the grocer. But . . . is it beer? If I mix beer, Kahlua, vodka and 69-cent half-and-half all together over ice, is it beer? If I call a tail a leg, how many legs does a dog have? And things of this nature.

Bottle purchased at Binny’s Beverage Depot in Downtown Chicago. Pours hazy ruby with spare fizzy off-white head, mostly diminishing, spare lacing. Aroma is average malt (bread), average hops (flowers), average yeast (dough) with notes of cherry. Light bodied, thin texture, flat carbonation and a chalky finish. Average duration, light sweetness, acidity and bitterness.
