If anyone out there is familiar with Cheerwine, this reminded me a little bit of that - lots of carbonation, heavy cherry flavoring. Even the coloring (deep red) was reminiscent of a cherry soda. I was skeptical but I actually thought it was pretty good. Dorwart (1814), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 30, 2006 Fizzy light pink head. Reduces quickly but has soda like carbonation. Fruity aroma with raspberries, cherries, a bit of oaky tartness and a little ginger. Color is a bright port red. Light ard fruity flavor. Good helping of cherries. Sourness is at a minimum. Little dry and metallic but finishes clean. Not very acidic. Cheery sweetness balances very well with the traditional flemish sour taste. I like this a lot. Very easy drinking. Lingering raspberry tartness. A decent fruit flavored flemish sour. Thaichile (599), 10aFly, New Jersey, USA

With that said, I thought the additon of the cherry, cut the acidic character of the ale and made this quite enjoyable. Poured a a nice cherry color with a pink head. Nose was completely cherry and the flavor was a nice, slightly puckering sweetness. I would have this again, although it is much more of a fruit beerwhich is the only reason I checked it out. sneagrams3 (1757), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Sep 24, 2006 330ml bottle. Clear and a beautiful garnet red hue. Sparse white head. Vinegar, tart cherries aroma. Musty citrus aroma. Rice wine vinegar. Slight peanutty, asia viniagarette. Good, but I’ve had better Sours. Ughsmash (4030), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 23, 2006 Bottled. Looked nice.. clear ruby with lots of rising carbonation and a short-lived pink head. Nose was muted with sour cherry juice, a hint of must, and lots of very, very sweet cherries. Tart cherries find the tip of the tongue... with meatier, almost artificially-sweetened sweet cherriage on the middle... sweet and tart cherry finish. This was not complex, but was certainly drinkable... with neither the sweetness or tartness becoming oppressive... came across as more of a "Flemish sour for the masses". bitbucket (2034), Kirkland, Washington, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 21, 2006 Bottled. Pours a clear mahogany wth almost no head. Aroma and taste of tart cherries. Crisp finish. Refreshing and doesn’t taste a lot like ’beer’ which means my wife likes it a lot.
