The flavor is sweet at the start with a sour fruit finish. Not a bad flemish sour. Magjayran (1379), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 11, 2006 It’s funny to me that New Glarus fruit beers can make the top 50 but any other sweet fruity attempts at beer can be so heavily hated on. This one smells and tastes like a cherry Jolly Rancher and it’s delicious. I could see myself enjoying this with a strawberry rhubarb pie or cherry glazed chicken breast. hiphops (280), caldwell, New Jersey, USA

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Aug 5, 2006 This is a first for me since this is probably the first Flemish Ale (definitely the first Flemish Sour Ale) I’ve had. This beer was very red (dark red) with a light red head and a fair amount of carbonation. Smelled like cherries, neither sweet nor sour. Tastes like cherries at first and then a sours a bit through the finish. Good palate, maybe a bit heavier than expected. I wasn’t a huge fan of this one, but I’m just starting to make a forray into this style, so I will probably have to re-visit this one again after I get some more experience in this style. 11.2 oz bottle, $4.05 at the Winking Lizard Tavern (Crossroads). | 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Aug 5, 2006 Neither sour nor Flemish. Ok, maybe it is the latter but that’s all it’s got going for it. Juicy-juice red, overly sweet cherry and under-carbonated. Ah! The refreshing dissonance of Eurotrash alco-pop. heemer77 (4309), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 4, 2006 Bottled. The body was a very pretty dark red with a light pink colored head. The aroma was lemons with some cherries and flowers. There was also a bit of dank funk, but the fruit over powers that character. The taste was fairly sweet with cherries and some 7 Up. There was also a bit of dry wood in the finish. PLenty of carbonation. Decent for what I woudl consider more of a fruit beer rather than a Flemish Sour. zach8270 (2121), Henrietta, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 25, 2006 (draft @ The Old Toad - Rochester, NY) Nice red color with a thick and puffy pink head. Aroma has a nice and distinct sour cherry smell to it mixed with other dark fruits like plums and prunes. The taste starts with a light cherry flavor and then moves to a nice, sour finish. Really has a nice kick to it that if you’re not expecting, really gets you. Easy drinking and very smooth, with that delicious sour twang at the end.
