Aroma is sour with some cherries. Flavor is fantastic! Sour, but not as much as other Flemish Ales. Definite cherries without the artificial flavor that plagues so many fruit beers. Refreshingly tart. Finishes very clean. I love this beer! Beerlando (2321), Orlando, Florida, USA

Why ruin a perfectly good Flemish Red by infusing it with fruit juice? But this beer, as sweet and soda-like as it is, actually grew on me a little bit. The pour is a gorgeous crimson and plum color with a large, fizzy, light pink head. The foam settles pretty quickly to a wispy film, leaving random spots of sudsy lacing in its wake. Aromas evoke fresh, ripe cherries, red grape juice, and a bit of creamy, slightly funky yeast. Flavors follow suit quite well, with cherries obviously dominating, and the complimentary components lagging behind quite a bit. A fizzy, soda-like body goes down smooth, though it is a bit too sweet on the finish. This decent little concoction isn’t exactly what I’m looking for in a beer, but I can at least respect it. I’d still take the normal Rodenbach or the Grand Cru over this any day of the week. cbkschubert (1974), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA

Well carbonated. Aroma and flavor is cherries. Light to medium body. A good fruit beer. DoubleBubble (107), Mescal Lakes (wherever that is), Arizona, USA

Smell the cherries. More like a cherry soda, very sweet, not too tart at all. A little lingering cherry flavor, which is all good with me. Very easy drinking, I would call this a definite dessert beer. wondrtim (19), Lakewood, Washington, USA

The smell was lightly fruity. Cherry flavor with all kinds of excitement in my mouth. It reminded me of bubble wine or champagne. Overall...I liked it. BitchesBrew (710), Berkeley, California, USA

Flavors are kind of thin, but really leaning on the sweet side. Drinkable, but not quite what I had hoped. Almost cloying. oberabcbbsok (686), Hoboken, Belgium

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 12, 2007 Murky red/purple minimal frithy head but leaves nice lacing. Aroma muted cherry extract, faintly tart and hints of oak. Flavor really sweet juicy cherry through and through. Alcopop like, very tart and refreshing though. Enjoyed this more than score indicates.
