A hazy red beer with a disappearing pink head. The aroma is sweet cherries. And so is the flavor though combined with a light sourness. A very enjoyable beer.

Bottled. Hazy dark red, small pink head. Ripe cherry aroma. Sweet and lightly balsamic with only a light tuch of acidity. Refreshing, but I would certainly like to have it drier.

(Bottle 33 cl) Beerlovers around the world cried bitter tears when the new ownership of Rodenbach phased out the beloved "Alexander" cherry beer. But years later comes this new Kriek based on Rodenbach sour ale. And contradictory to the heap of stickingly sweet fruit beers that float the Belgian markets in recent years this is a decent Kriek for adults - in spite of the low alcohol. Pours a beautiful red, completely opaque with a small, fine reddish head. Pronounced acidic cherry aroma. Lovely cherry flavours with a distinct sourness again and typical notes of iron. A very decent beer and a pleasant surprise. 080805

Purple-burgundy colour. Slightly woody aroma of sweet cherries and hints of balsamic vinegar. The palate is a mix of candyish cherry syrup and tart, winey, slightly balsamic Rodenbachy goodness. But it does not demonstrate any of the richness nor complexity of Rodenbach’s beers. It just uses their tartness to balance off what is otherwise a simple and refreshing kid’s juice drink. Not horrible, not all that good, not Alexander. On the other hand, keeping Rodenbach operational is important to me...

clear dark red, scant bubbly off white head, sticky sweet bing cherry aroma, carbonated soda body, cherry cool aid flavor, only a hint of tartness, a perfect cherry wine cooler
