KAME (132), California, USA Jun 26, 2007 Bottle bought at Sam’s in Chicago. Pours a cloudy black currant color with a frothy pink head. Aroma of tart cherries, with some mild funky sourness. Not a bad aroma, but really one dimensional. Flavor is alright, but more of the same. Candied cherries (like the ones in fruitcake), and quite tart. Kind of bleh, but drinkable.
afireinside96 (495), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 23, 2008 12oz bottle served in a stem glass. Pours hazy pink but collects in the glass as a deep reddish brown topped by pink foam. Smells like cherry sweet tarts, dusty and sweet. Tart cherry flavor but not nearly as tart as regular Rodenbach. Simple sweet and sour concoction that is quite pleasant, though not as amazing as I had envisioned. LilBeerDoctor (625), East Setauket, New York, USA Sep 19, 2008 Bottle courtesy of sloth (thanks Bert!). This was my favorite beer when I just started getting into beer. Pours a deep red with a pretty, foamy pink head. Aroma of cherries, sweettart candies. Flavor of tart cherries and more candy. Nice tartness with just the right amount of cherry and sweetness. Ah, heaven...I’m so glad I got to try this again. A pity this beer is retired. ucusty (1210), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Jul 14, 2008 pink/red pour with a pink head. Wonderful candy cherry aroma. similar in flavor maybe a little more tartness would do this some good... PhillyBeer2112 (1853), Orange Park, Florida, USA Jul 5, 2008 Very pleasant sour cherry. Almost a candyish quality to it really - virtually indistinguishable from cherry jolly ranchers. Mild sourness, cherry pits, light malt. Very pleasing. Deep red color, pinkish foam. Cobra (1033), In the snake pit, Maryland, USA Jun 13, 2008 11.2 oz. green twist off bottle. No freshness date seen. Poured out a deep cherry red, with a thin ring of foam around the edges. Aromas are of sour pie cherries, vanilla, some cherry pits, caramel malts. Flavors are about the same as the flavors, with sour cherries dominating the flavors, and a background of vanilla. Sweet, and tart at the same time. Refreshing, light alcohol beer hits the spot on a hot summer day.
Finished a little fruity for me though.
