Acidic wooden milky grainy yoghurty taste. Mild mouthfeel. Mid-bodied. Dry barnyard vinegar and acid aftertaste with yoghurty notes. Mild, balanced, very nice. (0.33l bottle from gr0ve.) Vinegar and oak, and not much detectable of the raw materials. A fine balanced, very drinkable beer, in spite of the acidity, but I’d rather have a glass of their Foederbier. Gr0ve (1403), Oslo, Norway
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 17, 2009 375 ml bottle. Copper colour. Crystal clear. Almost no head. Low carbonation level. Alcohol is noticeable at first, then there is a gentle vinegary aroma. The vinegar melds wonderfully into the other malts that are there, but it all comes out mostly acidic, thus on the mellower side. Still there is a lot of acidity, but it balances out nicely. Perhaps it is the alcohol that takes the hit. The acidity comes more forward in the finish. After a while it takes over. OldMrCrow (1193), Seattle, Washington, USA

Beautiful unmarked bottle (after removing the paper wrapping) with a clear gold liquid within; no head. Apple juice and white whine aromas, a hint of funk and a hint of wood. Sour and very funky flavors, parmesean and dry wine, an off-taste that I associate with Duchess, Strawberries and soaked wood. Sesame rice crackers. Smooth, almost flat, but not in a bad way as this is so wine-like; similarly, no hint of the 10% alcohol. fata2683 (883), Panama City, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 11, 2009 rating #420 haha, bottle 2004 vintage, pours light amber with no head...looks almost still with very few bubbles. Aroma is sweet and sour, 7up, white wine, apple juice, honey and some sour lemon notes. Interesting flavors going on...light carbonation, so the mouth is pretty still with only a little fiz in the finish. Flavors of white grape, apple and some sour earth funk, I’m guessing from the wood that peeks out and says hi. A definate presence of alcohol, although it is masked by all of the sourness. Overall, a very sour and complex beer as far as aroma and in the finish. Tastes is interesting and unique and I’m glad I got to try it. Monkeypower (87), Odense C, Denmark
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 2, 2009 Clear golden without any head. Sour aroma with alcohol, dry apples, malt and yeast. Very dry, winous flavor, a bit like a white wine, with apples, grapes, cranberries, alcohol and vanilla. More like a white wine than a beer, with a lot of taste. Pinball (2863), Allerød, Denmark

purs a clear golden orange witha few bubbels on top.
very nice sour and slightly acid aroma with a littele leather in it too. also faint alc.
flavor is a mixed experience. flavor is extremely dry, as a dry white wine. i get grapes, wineous notes, slight citrus, lots of dryness, cider apple, wood. i’d say the flavor resembles champagne or white wine more than sour beer. well balanced, lots of notes to taste, flavors are well blended. quite an experience, not quite like the other sour ales i’ve had. greig (171), Hamilton, New Zealand
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 1, 2009 Had at the brewery during their open day in 2008. Citrus and bready flavours were dominant. It was extremely grainy, yet complex, with notes of fig, pear, apple, vinegar, and vanilla. Hides the alcohol well.
