Sour, wood, and some artificial sweetness in the nose, totally unlike the Céreale, sweet-lactic, like coffeemilk. Sourish, with a taste as from speculoos , fairly sweet, and lightly spicy. Lactic acid again. Faint astrigency, "mildered" by whatever is added - still dry-out effect, but tame. It still is a nice beer. But compared to the "Vin de Céreale", it is a total dumb-down. Why the colouring, why the sweetener - certainly not for the American customers, asking for Alexander, no?

Tart woody nose with notes of cherries and marzipan. Medium body, very tart yet with an underlying sweetness and again elegant woody edges. Tart finish. A delicious beer yet not really with enough complexity to be a world classic. 141109 MiP (9070), Sønderborg, Denmark
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Nov 14, 2009 Bottle, 7.0%. Mild but good citric aroma, quite lactic. Hazy red brown colour. Very small tan head. The flavour is nicely citric, lactic again, raisiny. But not extreme, quite well-balanced. The finish has more lactic acid, dries out a bit, but is still sweetish. yespr (12097), Copenhagen O, Denmark
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 14, 2009 75 cL bottle. Pours cloudy dark orange with a huge and light tan head. Aroma is fruity, light acetone and sweetish. Sweet malty and mild citric flavoured. Slight phenolic and dry malty with milky base flavoured. Somewhat sweet into the finish, yet with a growing acetone dryness and bite. Dry and acetone lasting impression once the initial sweetness has declined. Madsnp (620), Odense C, Denmark

Hazy deep red with lasting off-white head, sort of creamy. Red wine dominates the aroma, with wonderful vineous oak and raspberry notes, lacto, and definite diacetyl. Smmooooottthhh flavour, with wood, berry, tartness and sweetness and extreme deliciousness. Over a couple of years, this may very well turn out to be not just a superior Rodenbach but a plain masterpiece CafeeOndineke (28), Aalst, Belgium

Still a very good beer, very smooth, soft balance between sweet n sour. "The Vin" is more outspoken and has more punch to it ;-)
Hereby i wish to place another order for some Vin dC please! Maybe next year?
