It is still great, but not as good as the Grand Cru. But this is still one of the reasons beer beer is great and why it is important to try as many different ones as possible.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a dark, brownish red with small to average, off white head that mostly diminished and left fair lacing. The aroma was very sour cherries and wood, but so much more that I can’t even explain. There also seems to be a little alcohol even though it doesn’t make sense with the low ABV. The initial flavor was lightly sweet, moderately acidic and sour, while the finish was lightly acidic and even more sour with a long duration. The flavor was great, but a little watery with a ton of very sour cherries. The light to medium body was dry but slightly watery with very fizzy carbonation (the cork jumped off the bottle) and a moderate to heavy astringent finish. Poured to a cola like color with a small light tan head that quickly disappeared. Little to no fizz. Medium body in consistency which is a little sryupy. Sweet aroma of fruits and tanginess. Nice begining and middle with fruit flavors that ended with a clean & crisp sour aftertaste, that did not linger. Very good & unique tasting beer (both sweet and sour that complimented each other). | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 22, 2007 Bottle. Pour is a reddish/brown color with a little bit of a head. Aromas are reminiscent of balsamic vinegar and tart cherries with some unidentifiable spices. Flavor is tart and has almost a soy sauce note to it that mixes with pie cherries and vinegar. Intersting and different, but not one of my favorite sours. Angeloregon (2025), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 17, 2007 From a small bottle--This is the sour beer that started me on my path. Poured a unique red-brown body with a thin beige head. Vinegarette sour cherry nose with notes of oak and wine. Flavor grapples the taste buds (in a great way). Tart apply sweet and finished dry. I could drink more of this any day. boFNjackson (1318), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Dec 16, 2007 Bottle... Poured a reddish brown with a thin head. Smell of berries, other fruit and spices. Well carbonated, very champaign-ish, with rich fruit and floral flavors. Very sweet to the point of containing its tart character but very balanced. elmatador00 (518), j-action-ville, North Carolina, USA

Finishes sour as expected with just the right amount of sweetness. TrefwoordPunk (556), Leiden, Netherlands
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 13, 2007 Bottle 25 cl. Pours a dark brownish red with an off-white head and a rich smell of cherries, red wine, ripe oramges and citrus. Best beer I ever smelled! Taste is good too, mainly ripe red fruits, strawberry, cherries, red grapes. Maybe a bit one-dimensional in taste, but sure this is a really good beer!
