I’m a fan of this style, and this might be the best example I’ve had. It has a nice amber-cherry color and that classic aroma with a hint of barnyard (yes, that’s a good thing) and some sourness. The initial flavor is sour cherry and some orange peel, with some floral qualities and a clean tartness that sparkles on the tongue. What pluses this for me is the finish, which had a faintly bitter crispness. Both complex and refreshing.

Mahogany with a creamy, nice head. The aroma has a berry-like acidity and the flavour is sweet/slightly sour with nice notes of berries, caramel and it’s a smooth, pleasant, uncomplicated and charming beer - quenching and nice. 2477

On tap, Christian IV, Odense. Clear reddish brown, with a small creamy off-white head. Rich aroma of dark sugar, spice, malt and of course, that indescribeable, vinegar-like bret. Sweet flavour with acid balance. Pleasant malt background. Lovely beer, if slightly on the sweet side for my taste.

25cl 5.2% bought in Belgium. Red-brown and clear but very dark, with a small head. The aroma is pretty interesting: burnt sugar, coffee, cardamom, curry, soy sauce, smell - it smells like a Chinese dish! Bitter-sweet flavour with a liquorice, burnt sugar, apple syrup taste. Overal an interesting beer, but a bit too sweet for me.

Dark color with thin off white fizzy head. Refreshing tartness with light fruitiness. Medium body and carbonation. Easy to drink. Very good.

The colour was deep reddish brown, with a creamy brownish head. There was a strong sour berry cinnamon spice aroma. The taste showed fruity berry and light malt, it was sour acidic, and there was a short light oak finish. This is a distinctive style with quite a lot of complexity, moderate body, and is quite refreshing.
