A blend of 75% young beer fermented in steel tanks and 25% old beer aged 2 year in large oak casks. Rodenbach bears the proud title of "the most refreshing beer in the world".

i want a beer but i also want a shot of malt vinegar with black berries floating in it...can you do that? you’ve got to be in the mood, but man, this stuff is addictive. everytime i drink it the rating gets higher...7/4/9/4/19=4.3

bottled version... black berries and malt vinegar still reign but it seems watered down and not nearly as sour. 7/4/8/4/17=4

Plummy, vinous, fruity aroma; blackberries, caramel and dark fruit flavors, some woody notes; acidic and tart; highly drinkable and delicious.

Soure taste similar to berries, ending with a distinct taste of vinegar. Arome is similar, looks good the glass. Cant wait for these to get to Northern alabama in the 33cl (since we cant have anything over 16oz).

An outstanding and flavorful beer. Aroma of sour patch kids and fruit. Taste was sour fruit, yeast and almost dill. Nice and tart. Pour was a dark brown with a 2 finger lingering tan head. Aftertaste of vinegar. Full flavor and welcome change of pace.

I actually received this by acident at a local brew pub..Smelled like sour fruit...Taste was similar...Sour cherries and apples...My initial reaction was I hated it, but as I continued to drink it, it did taste better. Just not a style I am fond of.

[Sampled time by time, 2003 -->2005.] It’s now it happens. Rodenbach turns over and gotta be something speciel, not for the fainthearted. Heidelberg Lagervinegar, but not as significient af Duchesse. Sweet and sour. Lactobacillis, vinegar, sour fruit, curd, oaky and a sessionbeer also for the flamish geek. Nice, finally!!

Dark mahogany body with foamy caramel colored head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of sour cherries with some sweet caramel notes in the background. Sour cherry and apple flavor mixes nicely with oak and yeast. Not overly sour but still has a slight puckering effect in the finish.

Pours a rich ruddy red with a thin reddish tan head, not much of one though. The nose is fruity (cherries) with definite sour characteristics. Not a huge malt presence, but there’s definitely something nice and round here, lively, a little salty, somewhat lactobacillis. Definitely a flemish sour. Exceptionally lively on the tongue, really quite delightful, all those buggers make something nice. The flavors are completely in line with the aroma. More sour elements seem to sneak up, again sharp cherries. Those lactobacillis give this those salty yogurty elements that I love so much in the style, but here it’s much more subdued than in their grand cru. This is much more of a sessionable sour. Clean fruity finish, breaking into a sour lingering aftertaste. I enjoy this, and I’m glad I can get it locally now!
