Full, sour, red fruits, vinegar-caramel flavor with a touch of wood at the end. Medium to light MF, very dry palate, satiating. Very nice, red-dark copper color with a fine, beige lace leaving head. Characterfull, refreshing and tasty oud bruin. shp555 (1690), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Nice mysterious, dark red. Never had a flemish red before.
Immediate aroma of red wine vinegar and oaky funk.
Chug this and you’ll need an alka-seltzer - sweet on the front of the tongue, but mouth puckeringly sour on the sides of the tongue.
A bit more carbonation than I like, but I think leaving it open, warming 10 degrees, and then drinking, I’d like it even better.
After this, I can’t wait to try my bottle of Rodenbach Grand Cru

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 26, 2007 Bottle. Rich caramel color with an off-white head. Tart aroma. Fruity, tart flavor with some oak. Medium body. LIngering tartness. Not as sour as the grand cru - some residual sweetness. vyvvy (2068), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 25, 2007 Pours dark crimson / brown that is clear with a nice tan head. The aroma is woody and tart with light cherry, vinegar and leather - very clean and sharp. Medium body that is somewhat crisp with a good amount of unobtrusive carbonation. The flavor starts sharp and tart with sharp citric flavors and only a hint of sour cherries. The finish has some metallicness and not much else added. An okay Flemish sour. 17thfloor (1498), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Thanks to Jeanine (a regular) for buying this for me. Pours muddy red brown with a beige head. Nice aroma of cherries, apple, yeast, and dust. Flavor is not as sour as I was expecting, but nicely blended flavors of oak, yeast, cherry, and fresh apple cider on an earthy malt backgone. A hint of ginger on the finish. Nice beer. ampp (150), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 22, 2007 Had on tap at Winking Lizard. Dark brown color with some red mixed in and a light beige head. The first sip was very cold. I noticed the sour cherry flavor right away. There was also a sweet malt. The tart/ sour taste is different, but it’s not bad. It went well with my meal.
