The aroma was very tart and sour, some spice, cherry, glue vapor. The aroma was very sour and tart, a tad harsh, and had some slight cherry flavor. Not as complex as the nose. The palate was very tart and a little harsh while the finish was warm and tart. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 17, 2007 Bottle at the winking lizard - Pours dark brown with a short tan head that fades quick but leaves a little lace. Aromas of Cherry, caramel, and chocolate. Falvor is first the quite tart cherries, then the caramel and chocolate flavors give a little sweetness before the sour finish. Well balanced with medium body and a fair mouthfeel. KnutAlbert (3191), Oslo, Norway
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 12, 2007 On tap at the Palm brewery. Oaky and dusty. Sweetness and sourness combined to kame a fine beer. Nice stuff, with very full taste. Not for the novice drinker. Doggythedog (1591), Split, Croatia
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 10, 2007 0.25l bottle bought at a store in Split Poured a lovely darker red colour with almost no head (a tiny ring of which was quite persistent though). The nose is very red wine like, grapes, a touch of tannines and a hint of malt. The taste is very, very subdued compared to the Grand Cru, sourish, cherries, apple, weak blood and maybe wood again, vinuous, hints of yeast and ginger. Some weak bitterness, and a bit dry. Nice, but not as flashy as its big brother. Poperinge (359), Cowtown, Alberta, Canada
