Aroma of old wet carpet, very ripe fruits and some syrup. Interesting dry mouthful, flavours of tobacco, ripe fruits, nuts... very hard to describe. Medium length slightly sour finish. hotstuff (3175), Indiana, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 18, 2006 Corked and caged bottle. Best before 090806. Large fizzy pink head that was mostly lasting, minimal lacing, visible carbonation, hazy, and an reddish orange hue. Sour, tart, cherries, some oak, rich, and floral nose. Flavor was sweet, acidic, sour, tart, tangy, cherries, and dry tasting. Tingly, sour and dry mouthfeel. Light-medium body. Just so-so. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Nov 18, 2006 This corked and caged bottled brew from a bottle shop marked bbf 09/08/06 12250 on bottom of bottle poured a very large sized head of foamy finely sized tan colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a very hazy typically carbonated brown colored body. The aroma was malty and sour. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of semi-sweet sour dry and tart. An OK brew just nothing special. toccata (70), grembergen, Belgium
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 14, 2006 Deep red to brown beer with a bubbly beige foam. Nose is refreshing and has a soft wine touche in the nose. The taste is light malty, and the balans betweem sweet and sour is OK. In general, is the beer very drinkable but to me is the body a bit thin. A fine beer but not very complex. jehoey (766), Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 13, 2006 Updated: Sep 24, 2007bottle at Brussels Midi en route to Amersterdam: sour and oaky aroma. pours deep brown with a red hue into a Rodenbach glass. Tasted like a wine beer hybrid with wood notes. So in that way it reminded me of De Dolle oerbier special reserve. mouthfeel is very nice, very active and carbonated tickels the tongue. Not bad Ibrew2or3 (2761), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 10, 2006 0.5L bottle. Amber color with fluffy-creamy tan head. Strong aroma of sourness and tart fruitiness. Tastes a lot like the aroma with mild sourness, strong tart grapes (wine like) and behind that is a faint sweet malt, very faint. I didn’t sense any oak aged notes. Big carbonation with nice lacing. M0RHI (1067), Luxembourg, Luxembourg
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 5, 2006 Bottle. Pours a dark brown - ruby colour, thin off-white head. Nose is strangely sherberty, cherry, sour red wine vinegar. Initial mouthtaste is a cherry and vinous one, but on the swallow, this woody bitter for half a second. The lasting palate is slightly sweet with plenty of lively sherbert and some dull sourness. Rich and lively. Rather nice. mansquito (827), Boston/Philadelphia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 31, 2006 This is a downright strange beer. It might be like that simply because it was the first time I ever encountered sour ale. It tasted less like beer and more like a nice, high quality soda. I didn’t know how to feel about it at first, but right now I kind of wish I had one in my hands.
