FishManLA (182), Abita Springs, Louisiana, USA May 19, 2008 This is a pilsner? Best pilsner I’ve ever tasted! Everything about it is more like and ale than a pilsner. It is a brilliant gold color, almost the color of an Abby Triple, rather than a pilsner. Its head has a fair amount of persistence and leaves nice lacing, also ale-like. Its nose is mostly of yeast, but its a clean, fresh smell. The taste is sweet, like white wine, again, more like a Belgian ale than a pilsner. A bitter and clean hop bite is also apparent in the taste. Finally, it has one last un-pilsner like characteristic: It has a bitter/sweet (with emphasis on the sweet) malty/hoppy finish. Now that I can get them here (Covington, Louisiana), I’m really becoming a big fan of Rogue brews!
VTHopHead (701), Barre, Vermont, USA Oct 12, 2008 Bomber - Poured a quite clear darkish amber n color with a small white head that very quickly faded to a thin rim around the beer. Aroma is of grassy hops and malty sweetness. Flavor is lightly citrus, but also slightly sweet. Hops and bitterness in the finish. A bit over carbonated. Good... worth repeating. msante79 (280), Illinois, USA Sep 9, 2008 Bomber. Rating from memory. Pours hazy golden yellow with foamy white head. Aroma is grassy, lemon and light malt. Flavor is sweet malts, lemon, grassy and a touch of hops. Mediam bodied. Decent beer just didn’t gel with my palate. mdm46410 (590), Griffith, Indiana, USA Sep 9, 2008 Poured from a 22oz bomber and served in a pint glass. This beer poured golden with a very slight haze and a decent head of soapy, off-white foam. Some light lacing was left around the glass. The aroma of the beer was made up of lightly sweet and toasty pale malts, and also freshly mown grass. The flavor contained grass, light citrus, and sweet malts. Moderately crisp and bitter. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied with ample carbonation. A solid pilsner. I would gladly drink this again. doubleo (842), San Diego, California, USA Aug 22, 2008 22oz bottle. Pours hazy, golden yellow with a fizzy white head, no lace. Smells super sweet and malty, very nice. Tastes sweet malty and citrusy hoppy, nice hop presence on the taste. Full body, good carbonation. Zbong (38), Lansing, Michigan, USA Jul 28, 2008 Murky yellow color with some foamy head. Sterling hops seem good, but I would have liked to have more of them in this brew because it just tastes like an average pilsner. Sorta tastes like a better version of Labatt.
