Poured from a large-sized bottle into a pint glass. The beer is a cloudy, rich amber color with a creamy, light tan head that had modest size and retention. The aroma is malt-heavy, featuring caramel, coffee, toffee and some fruit tones, and also some spicy hops. It has a very nice, lightly spicy and hoppy flavor with some sweet fruitiness in the mix. The beer is pretty dry on the palate, slightly on the thin side, and not too watery, although the carbonation is fairly high. It is a quality ale, but might be slightly overpriced at $5 for the bottle.

Hazy amber-brown pour with a fizzy off-white head. Aroma of nutty caramel malt, sweet light fruit and a touch of spicy hops. Very similar flavor, with some nice bitter grapefruit hoppiness on the finish. Overall, very nice.

Bottle @ Beer Palace, Oslo. Thin bubbely offwhite head. Hazy, amber colored body. Aroma is a nice blend of delicate sweet, buttery malts, toffee/cream-caramel, and a medium to strong scent of fruity hops. Taste has a bready and caramellish malt-character, is sweet and hoppy with a note of roast. Quite filling. Fine bitterness and malts in the finish. Another well-crafted ale from Rogue.

Bottle (Õllesummer 2008, Tallinn) - Copper brown/amber in colour. Hoppy aroma with some milk chocolate and grapefruit. Hoppy taste which is slightly tangy on the tongue at first. Grapefruit and lemon can be detected and it has a pleasant bitterness.

cloudy amber color, small white head. smells honey malt and hops. tastes similar, caramel. i’m not a fan of amber ales but figured i’d see if this changes my mind. it didn’t really but it’s good for the style. thick mouthfeel, low to medium carbonation. just not my style.

deep amber pour with a small cream head. hops and caramel on the nose. nice mouthfeel with huge malts upfront with the hops coming through in the finish with a slight bitterness.

12oz bottle. amber-orange color with medium beige fluffy head. pine and grass hops dominate the aroma. same thing on the taste up front - then a bready dry finish. hints of caramel and spice throughout. thin to medium palate. I’m a rogue fan generally, but this isn’t my favorite.

Aroma is full of well balanced hops. It’s appearance is a nice orange-copper color, with an adequate head. It’s very tasty with more hops than malts, but a good balance nonetheless. It’s a good session, flavorful, and hopped, but not overpowering.
