Bottle from Bryde Vin, Denmark - half price because it was fractionally past the sell-by date - should have been double, because it justs improves. Dry, marginally fruity, sufficiently hoppy but does not overwhelm the lowish alcohol. Ah I miss the US ... AdamGott (190), Idaho Falls, Idaho, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 28, 2008 brown hazy pour with medium lacy off white head (slightly brown) - nice complex malty flavors are well blended with the hops but the hops are a bit over the top for the style I think. Mostly clear amber ale with copper highlights and a mid-sized, creamy, khaki-colored head. Great retention. Chocolate, caramel and earthy hops waft up from the glass. Medium-bodied with an astringent mouthfeel and fizzy carbonation. Caramel sweetness balanced by tannic hop bitterness. Crisp, mostly clean finish. Thanks to mgumby10 for providing the bottle! | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 20, 2008 Very quality amber ale. It’s taste is interesting, and complex. It starts with some citrus and malt then finishing with bitter. It’s not a bad bitter, just out of place. voota (765), Melbourne, Australia
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | May 15, 2008 Hazy dark copper with a large off-white head. Citrus, crystal malt, toffee, dried apricots and chocolate in the aroma, quite rich and interesting. The body and flavours however, tend to be a bit disjointed swaying between too bitter and too much crystal malt. It’s flabby all the way through to the finish, and the more I drank this, the less I liked it. A slight roastiness in the flavour makes it a little interesting.
