| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 1, 2008 Nice, um, amber pour. Very little head. Smooth, malty, slightly buttery with some caramel notes. This is weird, but I always taste strawberry seeds in ambers that I like, and they were present here, if a bit buttery. Not as hoppy as I would have guessed, but that’s okay with me. I like ambers, and this was a very good one. brew4fun (171), West Virginia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 28, 2008 12 oz. bottle. Amber pour with decent, long-lasting off white head. Aroma of caramel and hops. Taste more of the same, decidedly tilted toward hop bitterness. Mouthfeel a bit thin, making it easy drinking and refreshing. A very good American Amber! crazyvin (1254), New York, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 27, 2008 bottle. Somewhat of a disappointment. Poured a beautiful copper color with a bone color head which had some lacing. A nice sweet aroma honey and oak. Flavor was mildly hoppy and sweet initially and finished with an unpleasant mild grass like flavor. Finish was smooth. There was no oak note in the flavor and that led to it being disappointing to me. Flavor could have used more hops to it. Not a bad beer, but could have been better. tytoanderso (1387), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA

Pleasant nose of rich caramel, wet wood, some grassy hops and a touch of vanilla. Pours hazy dark copper with a nice sized off white head. Disappointing flavor. Steely grain, some toasted caramel and toffee, dry, old, grassy hops. Fairly thin and metallic. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Finishes with some dry and light citrus hop notes. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 26, 2008 Pours a cloudy caramelly rusty color with a fairly large and long lasting head. Pretty nice looking. Smells of toast and caramel a bit of bitter wood and old citrus rind. Tastes fairly similar, woody, caramel, a bit of astringency and roast, subtle bitter hop flavor. Finishes with the taste of dirt and old grapefruit, but it’s actually pretty clean, and doesn’t linger as long as other Rogue beers. Easy drinking of course, but still was creamy enough to feel substantial. For the style, what more can you really want?
