More brown than amber and a bit hazy. Metallic nose, a bit too brassy maybe. Silky mouthfeel, light to medium body. Scales are tipped slightly in favor of hop over malt but both are quite assertive here. A good balance, really. Although highly drinkable and well-made, it’s not something that I would call extraordinary. JohnC (2281), Mission Viejo, California, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 20, 2007 Bottle. Dark amber and a little reddish with a smooth light brown head. Aroma is a mix of fruity hops and sweet malts. Body is light with a bitter finish. The caramel and roasted malts are really taking the back seat here. Given the relatively darker color, I expected something more malty. Very drinkable, though. Not too shabby. thewolf (5793), Kolding, Denmark

Pours a deep red with a slightly fizzy creamy off white head - slightly yellow-ish. Aroma is sweet caramel with a good dose of flowery and fruity hops. Nice mouthfeel. Flavour is quite hoppy, a little roasted, with a yeasty presence. Quite bitter in its finish - very nice. The roasted feel with some ashes to it is probably something that has been enhanced by cellaring. DerBiermeister (516), Birmingham, Alabama, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 15, 2007 This is a pretty, mouth-filling ale with a reddish hue. The head lasts longer than many but not that long. The palate is hoppy and malty with a bitter aftertaste. Not the best of the Rogue line-up, but certainly not bad. Probably won’t buy again though anytime soon. obguthr (1048), Poquoson, Virginia, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 12, 2007 Peanut, caramel, and pine bouqet. Cloudy brown color, thick tan head. Tastes EXACTLY like unsweetened tea with lemon and a decent hop finish. Good beery mouthfeel though. Uprated for being unusual. mhelgason (495), Charlotte, North Carolina, USA
