Nice malty palate with very minimal hop content and a robust mouthfeel that has some caramel and toffee. I really enjoyed this, nice one of this ambiguous ’style.’ Beerlando (2353), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 13, 2007 Have tried this many times in the past, but re-tried it on 6/13/07 in comparison with Avery Redpoint. It beat out the Redpoint, but I must say, I remember it being better than this. Color is a deep, mildly translucent amber with a frothy off-white head. Head dissipates to a thin film that leaves behind a small amount of lacing. Primary aroma is sweet malt. Flavors are malty, mildly spicy, and earthy. Disappointingly, the finish was somewhat metallic, which I don’t recall from previous tastings. Perhaps my palate is just off tonight. Mark this one for a re-rate in the future. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 6, 2007 The thing about Rogue for me is, I have had better beer but they consistently put out solid product. Their Amber Ale is no different. The color is a rich nut brown with a medium beige head. It is slightly sweet but very good and very easy to drink. trokini (1027), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 29, 2007 Clear amber with a short white head. Hops, tea, and caramel in the nose. Soapy, malty flavor with the usual Rogue hops. More of an ESB tartness and taste, but with resin. Good. kevin62 (267), New Jersey, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 27, 2007 On tap at the Rogue Ales Public House in SF. Pours orange amber with a medium off white head. Mild tea-like aroma. Mildly sweet berry flavor with a residual tongue bitterness. Slight finishing tartness. Perhaps this tartness comes from the PacMan yeast?
