Tap @ OTH. 8.5ABV indicated. POurs black, with brownish head. Aroma, hoppy, light bitter chocolate. Taste is filled with the Rogue signature hops, coffee malts. Gained in flavor as it warmed up, got more chocolate and grains out it. Leave a dry finish.

Draft at Brouwers.

Apples, brown sugar, some hops on the aroma. Grapefruity hop flavor with burnt-ish chocolate malt. Extremely hot; this one felt 9% at least. I was underwhelmed.

750 ml. ceramic bottle - 2008 release. Pours a deep, dark orange color with a thick white head that leaves lacing as it’s consumed. The aroma is hops, with notes of malts. Flavor is relatively hoppy, with a nice balance of malts. However, for what it was - it was far too expensive coming in at nearly 23 dollars a bottle.

Deep umber mahogany color with a moderate head that settle to a thin coating of taupe bubbles. Big hoppy aroma, with mild ruby red grapefruit, light pine and citrus. Underlying malt scents with pale malts, caramel, molasses and light fruit. A cross between an american strong and an english barley wine aroma. Sweet malts and somewhat grassy hops in the start. THe grassy hops continues throughout the quaff, with herbs. pine and citrus bitterness building into the finish and linger. Fairly sharp spicy finish and linger. Some nuttiness comes in the linger as well. No doubt this would last a number of years in the crock/bottle, but at the price, one and done is good for me. Fairly soft in feel, but the acidity in the finish thins it out.

Pours the color of a chocolate lab. Large tan head. You can smell the hops in the aroma and it sits on some nutty chocolate. Strong and chocolatey at the start with tons of piney bitterness at the finish. Nice.

Poured hazy brown with thin off-white head. Green hop aroma. Hop flavor was astringent, not well balanced. Disappointed in this brew from a great brewery.

Growler from Peaks. Dark amber with a nice tan head. Aroma is fairly malty, with a light hoppiness to it also, caramel, and brown sugar. Taste is nice and hoppy with a light caramel tinge to it, long filling hoppiness with a sticky body.
