bigtaster (174), Grand Rapids, USA Jun 29, 2009 Nice pale brown/yellow color and off-white head. Good amount of pine hops on the nose and some nice malts also. A bit of saw dust. The taste follows still very drinkable and good flavors going on, good balance. Listigovers (40), Ontario, Canada Jun 27, 2009 Very dry and bitter as the name would suggest. Not as bitter as many IPA’s, but sometimes IBU’s don’t matter. Malt often conceals the bitterness of a beer, but while the malt adds flavour to this brew, the hops shine through leaving a completely dry finish and forward flavour. lithy (1187), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Jun 22, 2009 Pale golden-orange with a creamy off white head. Aroma is spicy hops, some citrus, light caramel. Taste is grassy, spicy hops, light grapefruit, sweet toffee. bedainedebiere (194), Terrebonne, Quebec, Canada Jun 21, 2009 Bottle at Mondial de la Bière 2009 in Montréal. The hoppiest Bitter I had, perhaps, and one of the finests. Great body, very tasty, sweetened malts and great depth of hop taste. Excellent beer. Is there anything you Americans do better then crafted beers? I don’t think so... Rustyham (335), miami, Florida, USA Jun 21, 2009 Huge white long lasting head. Honeyish and lots of hop flavor, brown sugar. Bitter but not so much it becomes hard to drink. A great Beer- $14.99 per six-pack at Lucky Liquors, Miami. Vertical Bacon Strips (581), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Jun 11, 2009 Nice looking beer! Poured a cloudy tangerine with very light carbonation and a colossal monster thick off-white cap that took up over a third of my glass and formed a big fat nipple...mmmmmm...nipple...agamgmmgmmmg. Decent retention thoughout and excellent sticky lacing that left a real mess on the glass. Aroma (insert more drooling)....that thick sweet grapefruit is sooo good. Mild spice with a good dose of wheat. Overall the aroma is nice and soft and made me think of creamy stuff. Oddly enough, I noticed the wheat right off the bat. Then, about two seconds in, never ending grapefruit hops steamroll the wheat. The malts obviously come out alot more after it warmed. Tastes really good. The name is misleading because I was expecting an unearthly ammount of hops: it never occoured to me that this beer was going to be a version of an ESB. Mouthfeel was medium bodied and super creamy throught with a softness that fades quickly to shortlived sharp bitter spikes that mellow shortly after. Leaves a really lengthy bitter finish that hides on the bottom sides of the back of my tongue but is no where near being overpowering. Not my favorite ESB, but an excellent beer overall. Cirrhosis (550), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Jun 8, 2009 Beer pours a honey brown cloudy body with a large off white cap that lasted forever, on my last couple of chugs I still had a half inch of head left. Aroma seems to be way to hoppy for the style, very sharp and aggressive aroma with way too much hops they seem to be hiding a caramel malt character I’m also getting in this sharp aroma lots of soap, plain old bar of hand soap this seems out of place. Aroma isn’t horrid it’s just not what I wanted for the style. The taste is bitter that’s the first thing you notice and luckily the flavor is not overly hopped like most Rogue beers, I guess I’m tasting soapy grapefruit hops, lots of roasted malts but still the taste is nice and light. Mouth feel seems light but not to soft and has good carbonation interestingly the beer starts off bitter but finishes rather smooth and sweet, I think that’s honey I’m picking up in the finish. In my opinion this is way to hoppy to be a true bitter but it’s still tasty a refreshing I did enjoy drinking it. Review done while watching Gilmore Girls (not my choice)"
