thefederalist (226), Jonesboro, Arkansas, USA Mar 13, 2009 Bottle. I’d had this one before and forgotten to rate it. I’m glad I did, because I think reevaluating it helped me rate it better. Pours a perfect, opaque copper with a small but dense head. The aroma is of ameriacn yeast and some noble hops. Body is soft and highly carbonated. The flaver is overtly bitter and dry, just perfect for this type of beer. The hops are all in the punch though. I don’t get much in the way of aroma. Maybe a little back woods pine in the finish. The yeast quality shows perfect fermentation. These guys know what they are doing. Overall I’d say this is just about my favorite session beer, if you can call it that at 6.2%. altonbrownd (1862), Amsterdam, Netherlands Mar 13, 2009 Bottle from Cracked Kettle. Amber body with nice, rocky head. Super hopped up nose. Taste of hops and pine. Prickly texture. But smooth. Warming. With a hoppy finish. dink (6), Sudbury, Ontario, Canada does not count Mar 8, 2009 650 ml bottle, probably my third offering from Rogue. pours an orange-caramel brown with a puffy white head.
it’s got a nice fresh scent, tastes citrusy, and of a medium bitterness. above all else, i enjoyed the pine finish best.

TrefwoordPunk (549), Leiden, Netherlands Mar 4, 2009 Bottle 35,5 cl. Pours a hazy, orangy golden with a small frotty yellowish white head and an aroma of oranges, lemonade, fresh hops and wet malt. The taste is a bit sweet and malty at first but then a massive hoppy bitterness comes in. The bitterness doesn’t last that long, so I would call the finish medium. Nice brew, but I wouldn’t call this "brutal bitter", when I compare it to an IPA. DocHop (278), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Mar 2, 2009 Pours a hazy, honey/orange with a small white head. Great sweet hop aroma with scents of honey, orange and other sweet citrus. The flavor is very fruity upfront with some light honey. The finish is bitter but very smooth with a great flowery hop flavor. Very well balanced beer with a lot of flavorful character and a great, smooth creamy mouthfeel. MitchWayne (264), Kokkola, Finland Feb 28, 2009 Kind of strange, not really a bitter at all, closer to an ipa methinks. Hoppy malty aroma and slightly bitter finish. Didn’t go crazy over this but vaguely liked it. Didn’t stand a chance against victory hopdevil and pliny but that is understandable. NDbeerdrinker (164), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA Feb 28, 2009 Pours a golden yellow with a big white pillowy head. Taste just seems to be lacking something. Not much there. Nothing unpleasant about it, but leaves something to be desired. Easy drinking and a bit of a bitter finish, but not "wowing".
