Commercial Description:
Brutal combines Oregon hops with English Malts. The Oregon grown Crystal hop is a triploid variety developed from the German Hallertau aroma hop variety with contributions from Cascade, Brewers Gold, and Early Green. Crystal is the only hop used in brewing Brutal and it provides a massive amount of aroma without dry-hopping. The English malts used are floor malted Pipkin (a mellow cross of Maris Otter and Warboys, from an English company called Beeston), Cara Vienna and Cara Wheat.

Hazy golden amber with a very large off white lingering head... Mildly sweet english malts dominate the aroma, mildly aromatic, not hugely, toffee... Very traditional english flavor with a slightly american twist, semi sweet toffee underlies a dry mildly bitter body, with hops that are more used for bittering than flavor... Nice american interpretation

pours a light amber/honey color with a thick light tan head...nice lacing and retention. aroma has very nice subtle citrus...pineapple. notes of caramel and wheat too. flavor is more earthy and grapefruity hops with sweet caramely malt...maris otter? very lively and slightly oily mouthfeel with a dry lingering slightly spicy finish. very nice beer...particularly enjoy the finish.

Nice surprise, I like Rogue a lot too, but never tried it until the Brewfest in Erie PA, at the Brewerie at Union Station, Nice balance of dried fruit and a hop undertone, somewhat malty finish, some here say it’s not a well balanced beer....wondering if they had a bad batch?

Pours a hazy amber color with a nice off white creamy head that lasts for a period. The head leaves attractive lacing behind. The aroma is rich with the smell of flowers, lemons, sweet fruits, and maybe a touch of caramel. The flavor profile is initially sweet giving off tastes of grapefruits and some earth. The flavor changes quickly to being fairly bitter where the hops really come through. The finish long and bitter. Overall, it’s a fine beer.

0,355 l bottle. Murky amber color, little head. Nose is malty and hoppy with some fruits in it. Taste is malty with a well balancing bitter hoppiness. Nice mouthfeel, an enjoyable brew.

Large off-white lasting head and a hazy golden body. Light malt aroma and heavy hop aroma of flowers and grass. Medium body, oily texture and a bitter finish. Moderate sweet and heavy bitter. Nice bitterness but still well balanced flavor.
