illidurit (851), Santa Cruz, California, USA Mar 9, 2008 Review from notes. Poured into my Rogue pint glass. Dark brown-orange in color, with a fluffy off white head. Not much lacing. Aroma is quite sweet, with a lot of juicy citrus hops and sugary malt. Taste is mainly caramel/toffee, but there’s a nice floral hoppiness that complements it well. Finish is bitter but not overly so. Very tasty and very smooth. Ported (67), Ontario, Canada Mar 8, 2008 Bottle from LCBO. Nice deep orange colour, with a small white head. Smells and tastes of hops and fruit. Not overly bitter(as the name would suggest), but still sharp and clean. Very surprising, Very enjoyable. Will be drinking this again. Hopefully the LCBO keeps it around. wilderthanyou (410), Guelph, Ontario, Canada Mar 8, 2008 Updated: Oct 20, 2009Pours a hazy orange colour white frothy cap that sticks around for the whole show. The aroma is straight up hops and citrus with some toffee maltyness that begins to become more prominent as the beer warms. The flavour is a pretty good reflection of that, with lots of hops, and citrus zest up front and in the middle, with a bit of malty caramel back bone that breaks through at the end. A tasty beverage with a lightly dry finish. My favorite ESB so far, just wish I could buy a six pack of this stuff, instead of the bombers they sell at the LCBO. Rogue has yet to dissapoint me, a beer only for the brave though. Every beer I’ve had by them so far is a good smack in the face of hops. pootzboy (1037), Hawgville, Ontario, Canada Mar 8, 2008 22oz bottle:
Pours a beautiful clouded amber orange with an impressive sticky 3 finger cap
Aroma is intense, apricot-grapefruit-grass over substantial caramel tones.
Rich body silky smooth mouth feel, Big caramel malts in the front (not cloying though) surprisingly delicate fruity notes in the center mingle with increasing resinous bittering...finishes balanced and clean.... lightly drying with lasting metallic bittering.
A very fine ale, nicely executed and easy to drink. cyrenaica (435), Milton, Ontario, Canada Mar 7, 2008 650ml bottle

I tried this beer on March 6, 2008 after purchasing from my local LCBO outlet. The beer poured a hazy coppery-red colour with a large generous fluffy off-white head. The aroma was extremely hoppy. A lot of floral perfumey hints such as pine, and grapefruit. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied, fairly carbonated, and bitter. The flavour was divine. Almost like my morning grapefruit in beer form. My first Rogue beer, and it didn’t disappoint. Blasphemies (45), Ontario, Canada Mar 6, 2008 Updated: Apr 1, 2008Finally got some of this in at the LCBO in Ontario. Amazing. Nice copper-orangy colour, hoppy citris aroma. Bitter fruity tatse, some hops. Love it. ketchepillar (475), Viña del Mar, Chile Mar 4, 2008 Light caramel sweetness in the aroma. Flavor starts dirty, but finish clean and moderately bitter & dry. The finish is fairly lengthy as well, which is nice. Solid beer. luckygirl (1221), Boulder, Colorado, USA Mar 4, 2008 Bottled. Beer is hazy, vibrant, medium orange-apricot. Lots of tiny apricot-scrub like particles hanging in suspension. Head is large, off-white, frothy,

The aroma is malty with light notes of toasted grain; Hoppy with light notes of herb and peppery apricot; Yeasty with light-to-moderate notes of dough.
The flavor is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, finish is moderately-to-heavily bitter, trace acidic. Finish feels slightly metallic.
The body is medium, the texture is watery and the carbonation is average.
I’ll pass.
