SHANER4 (370), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Jan 22, 2008 Updated: Feb 17, 200822oz bottle - Poured copper color with medium head. Aroma is lemony sour and also citrus with nice hop scent. Taste is sour like good lemonade and very smooth with suddle hop flavor. This is another great brew from Rogue Ales, not overly bitter like the label may say. I am rerating this beer due to the several Brutal Bitters I have been drinking lateley. This beer is very drinkable and finishing a 6 pac is no problem and has you wanting more. If you have not tried this beer, try it and you will not regret it. BMan1113VR (2757), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA Jan 21, 2008 Very nice brew. Aroma is a pretty combonation of floral hops and cassis with a touch of raspberry. The appearence of this fine bitter is a barely hazy medium orange with an average sized off-white head with great lacing. The taste rounds out a bit bitter and fruity. Goes down quite well. Guinness4Duff (507), Tallahassee (and Poconos, PA), Florida, USA Jan 20, 2008 Orangish amber color with white head and cloudy appearance. Without a doubt the best ESB I have ever tried. mcnam003 (8), milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA does not count Jan 19, 2008 Not quiet an IPA but close, good bitter but nothing lip-smacking or tough to drink. Finishes very clean. afireinside96 (807), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 19, 2008 bottle. pour reminds me of a cloudy homemade iced tea. smells of citrusy hops. flavor is mostly of hops. pine, lemon, and orange. big hop finish. as noted previously sort of a one note beer but the one note it shows is quite enjoyable. georgehog (18), Delaware, USA Jan 17, 2008 Off orange with decent white head. Hops stand out in the aroma, with a little malt hiding out in the back. Hop flavor is really strong grassy and citrusy. Unable to taste anything else, somewhat one dimensional, but still a good session beer. efrumtheidiot (190), Maryland, USA Jan 16, 2008 pours a tangerine amber with a thin white head. aroma is a balanced malt/hop, with toasty candy notes and light fruit sweetness. taste is a little hay, some apricot, orange rind, light fruit. nicely rounded. moderate carbonation. a little thick/chewy. a wave of heavy bitterness hits at the end but doesn’t last, though a light pleasing bitter taste is left. very nice bitter, if you like bitters, you have to give this one a shot! blipp (1631), Newark, New Jersey, USA Jan 15, 2008 Bottle. Appearance: Cloudy orange, thin off white head. Aroma: Very sweet citrus and floral hops. Palate: Medium. Flavor: Floral hops, a bit grassy, citrus, grapefruit, good malt to balance. Overall: This beer has a very pleasant bitter finish. Another good beer from rogue.
