LooseCannon (914), Norfolk, Virginia, USA Oct 23, 2007 22oz bottle. Pours clear amber in color with foamy white head. Hoppy floral aroma. Taste of grapefruit and lite malt with lite dry finish. yobdoog (1420), Woodridge NY, New York, USA Oct 11, 2007 Aroma of nice piney and citrus hoppy beast. Bitter mild sweet. A little strong which I like and very hoppy taste. Balanced still and easy to drink. JonnyC22 (162), Huntsville, Alabama, USA Oct 9, 2007 Tastes like drinking a spice rack and eating pine needles immediately thereafter...which is a great thing. After the initial shock, this becomes an unbelievably drinkable beer. An awesome pre-dinner drink. lemonlovr (187), Lockport, Illinois, USA Oct 7, 2007 Weak aroma, some notes of citrus. Color is hazy gold. Flavor is more like an IPA to me but regardless I like it very much. Sweet and fruity at first with a comforting hoppy finish. Very pleasant overall and I also like the mouthfeel. Leaves me wanting to take another sup. riversideAK (2648), Shoreline, Washington, USA Oct 4, 2007 Hazy orange copper color. No head. Earthy, grassy, lemon hops in the aroma. This tastes more like an IPA to me, but its got nice earthy sweet notes with some resiny citrus hops in the finish. Nice lingering bitterness in this one. As it gets warmer, more sweet caramel malt comes into play and it becomes more reminiscient of a bitter. Nice and drinkable. I would drink this frequently. decaturstevo (1971), decatur, Tennessee, USA Oct 2, 2007 A copper pour with a slightly off white head. An aroma of rich malt and some hops. A very malty flavor followed by a very good progressive and lingering bitter. The palate is a little thin but the carbonation is good. A beer I like the palate and carbonation let it down some but overall very nice. verymerrymonk (255), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA Oct 1, 2007 Not terribly familiar with the ESB genre but I’ve looked forward to this one for a while. Pours a cloudy orange body with a quickly dissipating white head. Nice lacing. Citrus and hops with less intensity but longer lasting flavor than an IPA. Pleasantly surprised. Birdiebeagle (777), Perkasie, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 1, 2007 Bottle, Pours a cloudy yellow with a light white head. Has a good aroma of citrus and hops. Has a mild bitterness and a good moyuth feel. A very smooth drinking beer.
