DeadGuyFrank (347), http://westchesterbeer.com, USA Aug 27, 2007 Rogue is greatest brewery in America, this bitter is a great demostration of that statement. Bitters are common, they are admired I believe because so many of us Americans go over to Europe or walk into a bar and usually try a bitter as our first foray into great beers. They are delicious and prove that corn and rice are not quality ingredients for beer. Rogue’s bitter defines what bitters are and could aspire to be. Like the other beers they create they do not just admire the style but put a definite mark on it with each variety they make. They take the time to mold this bitter to impart to the customer the delicous malt, subtle hops, and slight sweetness. Awesome stuff. rugbydude05 (280), Kew Gardens, New York, USA Aug 25, 2007 Updated: Apr 19, 200922oz. bottle, poured well with little head. Peachlike color and aroma. Good subtle fruity flavor and acceptable palate and body. Like the other rogue beers it manages to hold a decent flavor and not sacrafice body or taste watered down. Good choice at a bar. hopslovin (180), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Aug 25, 2007 Opaque orange pour with white head than diminishes into thin film and a halo of lace. Smells like orang peels, spice and malt. Very prevelant citrus taste, a little carmel, and some malt sweetness in the flavor. Slight hop bitterness in the dry finish. Much different than what I was expecting. Enjoyable. dwedin (238), Portland, Oregon, USA Aug 15, 2007 Cloudy orange with a thin head. Citrus aromas, nice malt in the background. Not brutal at all. Goodgrief (1144), Middletown, Delaware, USA Aug 15, 2007 Poured orange...not copper, but ORANGE. Nice balance of citrusy hops and bready malts. Rich, full and well done! Speedle (262), Mid-Atlantic (Tour 2007-2008), Virginia, USA Aug 15, 2007 pours a cloudy golden orange with a thin white head....strong aroma of hops...citrus and malt...refreshing bitter start with a nice malty finish....good companion for the tuna cassarolle I am enjoying tonight....I have been in search of a great beer to have with Raman noodles...this may be the one blklab2007 (938), Connecticut, USA Aug 13, 2007 bottle poured a dark brassy orange in color with good carbination and a thin layer of head. the beer is thick looking, smells of hops, some citrus, and some sweetness like caramel. taste is very hoppy with grapefruit and lemon peel citrus, malt shows more in the texture than the taste but it is well balanced. the beer overall is very good and tastes like an ipa. with a good bitter snap at the end, a nice beer that i could really have a nice session with. another score for rogue. JAF737300 (791), Tampa, Florida, USA Aug 13, 2007 The beer pours almost orange with notes of citrus. The malt is defined more in the mouthfeel and palate, this ties into the hop(citrus) flavord that make this beer finish quite nicely.
