Commercial Description:
Brutal combines Oregon hops with English Malts. The Oregon grown Crystal hop is a triploid variety developed from the German Hallertau aroma hop variety with contributions from Cascade, Brewers Gold, and Early Green. Crystal is the only hop used in brewing Brutal and it provides a massive amount of aroma without dry-hopping. The English malts used are floor malted Pipkin (a mellow cross of Maris Otter and Warboys, from an English company called Beeston), Cara Vienna and Cara Wheat.

Deep golden color. Had this one a while back after picking it up at BevMo. Bitter alcoholic aroma with notes of hay. Flavor is dominated by hops, grapefruit and smooth malts. Nice mouthfeel, but could be more balanced with the initial sweetness. Worth a try.

22 oz bottle, Fargo. Orange-gold colour, thin frothy head. Citrus and hop aroma. Dy bitter hoppiness, slightly sweet finish, long finish that lingers at the back of the throat. Very nice.

22 oz bottle. Poured a cloudy orange with a huge white head that left lacing that looked like a lace tablecloth. Rich nose of citrus hops. Mouthfeel is very smooth and flavor is nicely bitter. Hopheads are going to love this one, others beware. Great and long bitter finish.

22 oz bottle. Slightly hazy amber body with a white head. A strong citrus/grapefruit aroma. Flavor is sweet, malty, hoppy and fresh. A well-balanced ale this one.

Pours translucent gold with large bubbles and quickly fading foamy white head. The aroma is strong and piney / hoppy with sweet citrus notes. The beer is bitter done right, that is, an enjoyable bitter taste that doesn’t leave you wondering if you really liked it or not. Starts sweet and quickly transitions. Smooth mouthfeel. An enjoyable beer.

Bottle. 12 FL. OZ. Pours a cloudy, golden orange color with substantial frothy, white head. Aroma is citrusy, hoppy, and a bit skunky. Soft, yet fizzy palate. Sour, bitter flavor reminiscent of biting into a grapefruit. I like grapefruit and I like this beer.
