Commercial Description:
Brutal combines Oregon hops with English Malts. The Oregon grown Crystal hop is a triploid variety developed from the German Hallertau aroma hop variety with contributions from Cascade, Brewers Gold, and Early Green. Crystal is the only hop used in brewing Brutal and it provides a massive amount of aroma without dry-hopping. The English malts used are floor malted Pipkin (a mellow cross of Maris Otter and Warboys, from an English company called Beeston), Cara Vienna and Cara Wheat.

An amber beer with no head. The aroma is sweet caramelic, with a touch of hops. The flavor is sweet and a bit sticky with notes of caramel, leading to a slightly bitter end. Boring compared to my expectations.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a hazy amber with a creamy, white head. Fresh, citrusy hops in the nose. Medium-bodied, malty with fantastic, fruity - grapefruity - notes. Bitter finish. Very lovely indeed. 220406

Bottled.. Orange, hazy appearance. Well balanced hop... Err.. No, let’s start over. Extremely grapefruity hop aroma. Rich malt backbone, soft mouthfeel, and then hops, hops, hops. Brutally bitter finish.

22 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy orange with a huge and off-white head. Mild woody and solid grape/orangefruit aroma. Flavour starts sweet with a nice caramel malt base and quickly being complimented with a nice orange and grapefruit hops flavour. Gains a light liqourice note towards the finish. Finish is dry and solid bitter with a continued lingering fruit flavour.

Bottle 12fl.oz. @ home.
Clear medium amber orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, caramel, moderate to light heavy hoppy, citrus - orange. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090111]

Hazy orange/brownish with white head. Smells of hops, barley and honey. The taste is mainly hops with influence of citrus and wheat. Hoppy and bitter aftertaste.
