Aug 10, 2005 Cask@GBBF, 05. Glazed orange appearance with a strong head. The aroma is light and fruity, and the flavour is strong and dry with a smoothish finish. Overall a reasonable beer.

Jul 13, 2002 Updated: Jul 9, 2005Rerate Pours a murky dark orange with a fluffy mocha colored head. Fresh, clean, floral, hoppy aroma. Tangy biuttersweet flavor, not overpowering, enough english malt in there to keep it from becoming another west coast grapefruit fest. Thick mouthfeel. Very enjoyable. Original 4.0 Nice and hoppy - but not overwhelming like some of Rogue’s tends to be. Nice thick appearance - drink in a glass if possible.

Cloudy amber, strong hoppy aroma.
Well balanced - full malty body, flowery and crisp hops. Dry summer meadow finish. Brutal? Hardly, but a fine beer.

Dec 25, 2008 Orange, slightly hazy, with a white head. Sweet malt and peachy hop aroma. Taste is alluringly sweet with spicy citrus and some soap. Mid bitter finish, pleasant rather than brutal. I kept this little bottle going a couple of hours. Delicious.

May 18, 2006 12 oz bottle. Poured a lovely hazy orange color with a bubbly white head that laced the glass. Aroma is full of sprucy hops and caramel malt. Well balanced hop and malt flavors; mellow caramel with a dry fuity note and a tangy hop finish. Not brutally bitter, but very good nonetheless. Yum.

Sep 16, 2006 Hazy golden color, small head. Aroma of hop, flowers, malt. Nice bitter taste, quite complex, bit dry. Nice bitter.

Jul 4, 2003 Bottle conditioned. Hazy amber, initialy good white head soon dissolving to thin cover of bubbles, moderate condition. Excellent pine resin hop aromas with some trace of tangerines and malt. In the mouth the hop flavour dominates with some yeastiness developing. Powdery dry and hop bitter in the finish with more yeast. Big and hoppy but not as complex as 90 minute IPA.

Mar 6, 2005 I didn’t know there was such a thing as and Imperial Bitter. Isn’t beer a wonderful discovery. Dark cloudy orange with a big head. Aroma was unexpectedly mild. Could probably sell it in a couple of style categories. Definately for hop lovers. Orange and grapefruit flavours. I found the bitter finish delicious.
