Highly hopped with bitter finish (hints of flowers/fruit in there too). Slightly cloudy with golden amber color. Not one of the better Rogues. dwyerpg (2545), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA

Hoppy, yet mostly in the start, it develops into a truly wonderful ESB, though it mostly makes me think of IPAs. Spectaculur. 5000 (2540), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 24, 2005 Bottle: Heavy orange gold, quite hazy, large rocky white head, wonderful lacing... this beer looks superb. Subtle hop nose, not as agressive as I thought it would be. Definite malt aspect, probably moreso because of the subtle hop presense. Fleeting bitterness immediately up front, fades quickly leaving only a soft hop sting on the sides of the tongue. Fairly smooth for a Bitter/ESB. Mildly malty, balances well with the bitterness. Moderate body, but very smooth mouthfeel. Extremely clean finish. Again, lingering hop sting on the sides of the tongue well after the finish. Very well balanced, crisp, and ultra clean.   I believe this one to be a bit underrated.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 6, 2004 Stingy hop aroma and a whiff of orange peel. Hazy orange color with a foamy head.
This is a full bodied beer with some orange and citrus and ton of hops. Actually, given its name I thought there’d be even more hops. Lingering bitterness. This is consistent with this brewer aggressive and oh-so-good. Really like and wondering why it isn’t an IPA.: jgb9348 (2511), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA

Good colour with a great smell. The taste was phenominal. A good combination of malt and hops, but definately more hoppy...which suits me well. A bitter beer, not too brutal, and more of an IPA or APA than a Bitter in my opinion...but nonetheless a great beer! Tasted at MacGregor's in Rochester, New York. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 21, 2006 Bottle. Slightly hazy orange-amber with a big creamy white head. Aroma of bready malt and spruce-like hops. Flavour follows the aroma - big and flavourful, but well-balanced. Hops take on a nice citric tang in the finish. Good stuff! Aroma of grapefruit and some grass and some spice. Flavor is mostly hops.. a little grain. On the palate this is medium bodied crisp and clean and finishes with a bitter almost sour aftertaste. This was a good ESB. Volgon (2490), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA
