Bitter to no end, but enjoyable and not done in a gimmicky sort of fashion, just a beer for the hopheads. Cascade all day long! TheGrandMaster (1873), Auckland, New Zealand

Big biscuity malt aroma, with fruity hops reminiscent of fruit salad. Dry and bitter palate, with a strong malty flavour - not so sugary - but definitely caramal. A bit of sweetness in the finish, but the hoppy bitterness takes care of that. BeerLimey (1873), California, USA

I expected an English Bitter from the name but had no idea of the citric bitter hop fest that would follow. An excellent version of an IPA that adds a great malty deepness of body. nearbeer (1871), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA

Huge billowy cloud-like head on top of slightly cloudy, burnt-orange liquid; had to pour in three sessions to fit all in the glass. Great aroma of sweet citrus, honey and a hint of light evergreen. Initial taste is similar to aroma, but nicely balanced out by hop bitterness. Has the required bitter aftertaste for the English style, overall excellent beer, worth $9.50/six they charge here in TN. One of the best American bottled beers I have tasted, outside of home brew. DrnkMcDermott (1861), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 13, 2006 Bottled. So, really an English malt with a German-derived hop. Smells like German hops when I pour. Cloudy coppery, with a spongy head that collapses from the inside rather than dwindling. A closer smell brings a more familiar Rogue hoppiness; more piney and a bit grasy than citrusy. That’s the first taste. The next taste brings back the sharpness of German bittering, abetted by pinprickly bubbles. Would be a great session beer if the alcohol was a bit less noticeable. But a great beer. For newbies, the best intermediate step between pilseners and IPAs. Crosling (1856), Loveland, Colorado, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 3, 2004 A beautiful color. A hazy orangish peach that glows. The head doesn’t disappoint with the retention or the lace. Both were fantastic.
Mandarin oranges, lemons, spruce, and grapefruit. Very delicately hopped aroma. Looking forward to this one.
Big bouquet of hops throughout the beer. Tons of grapefruits and lots of other spicy fruits. Malt presense is high but intolerant compared with the high hop rate. The hops are citrusy, resiny, oily and juicy. Pretty delicious.

Rogue likes to go overboard with the hops and I welcome it wholeheartedly. The hazy orange color and unmistakable hoppy aroma sends one message to the drinker..."pucker up!" oldrtybastrd (1846), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA
