Commercial Description:
Brutal combines Oregon hops with English Malts. The Oregon grown Crystal hop is a triploid variety developed from the German Hallertau aroma hop variety with contributions from Cascade, Brewers Gold, and Early Green. Crystal is the only hop used in brewing Brutal and it provides a massive amount of aroma without dry-hopping. The English malts used are floor malted Pipkin (a mellow cross of Maris Otter and Warboys, from an English company called Beeston), Cara Vienna and Cara Wheat.

Pale golden-orange with a creamy off white head. Aroma is spicy hops, some citrus, light caramel. Taste is grassy, spicy hops, light grapefruit, sweet toffee.

Fruit and floral aroma and a smidgen of wet shoe and then POW! A roasty malt and a cornucopia of hops ride bubbling white water into an expansive bitter finish. Talk about Chunky Monkey -- I’ve got massive hunks of something in here. What a ride!

Strong hop and citrus fruit aroma balanced by malty sweetness. Nice taste as its not too bitter, but shows nice signs of hops and malts. Finish is nicely dry and bitter.

One of the only rogue beers I have liked. Poured a reddish brown color with a off white head. Very hoppy aroma. Has a spicy taste with a bitter finish.

Bottle. Appearance: Cloudy orange, thin off white head. Aroma: Very sweet citrus and floral hops. Palate: Medium. Flavor: Floral hops, a bit grassy, citrus, grapefruit, good malt to balance. Overall: This beer has a very pleasant bitter finish. Another good beer from rogue.

Small offwhite head. Fruity, big oily, piney hop nose! Medium body. Big hop flavor, good mouthfeel. Plenty of malt backing the hops up. Finish is dry, hoppy, bitter, YEA!

i found this down the street and decided to pick one up at it has been ages.after pouring a little more than half of the 22 into a pint glass i got a nice 1 inch head with a hazey golden brown body.it was a little light in the aroma category, but i could get some citrus in the nose.i was really impressed with the palate.i scensed hops, malts,a bit of bitterness and a dry finish.pretty impressive.
