Commercial Description:
Brutal combines Oregon hops with English Malts. The Oregon grown Crystal hop is a triploid variety developed from the German Hallertau aroma hop variety with contributions from Cascade, Brewers Gold, and Early Green. Crystal is the only hop used in brewing Brutal and it provides a massive amount of aroma without dry-hopping. The English malts used are floor malted Pipkin (a mellow cross of Maris Otter and Warboys, from an English company called Beeston), Cara Vienna and Cara Wheat.

Six pack of 12 ozers. Poured into an imperial pint. Poured a gold/orange color with a two finger whitish head. Aroma is of citrus hops and unripe fruits. Flavor was malty and yeasty with a bitter aftertaste that lingered for a while. Medium body with good carbonation. Enjoyable.

355ml Bottle from Cracked Kettle. Hazy orange amber colour, thick yellow-white head. Aroma of grapefruit, buttery toffee, malts and pepper. Flavour is toffee, malts and a bit of nuts first, some spicy hops, then a nice grapefruit bitter finish. Medium bodied and a bit creamy mouthfeel. Instead of Brutal very smooth and easy drinking. I like that!

Bottle, from Julio’s. Good nose. Honey, pine, orange, canned pineapple, grapefruit. Hazy brownish orange color. Full sediment pour, not a lot but enough to cloud. Small head that faded quickly. Bitter flavors. Grapefruit, burnt, little pine in the middle, brown sugar, toffee. Thin body, lite creamy mouthfeel, bitter bite on finish. Citrus pucker. Good brew, though obviously too much for john q public. I like it

Bronze. Big, bubbly, off white head. Big hop aroma-resinous,citrus,pine-some sweet malt, also. Same flavor, very bitter, great with spicy food. Medium body, nice carbonation level. Good brew.

Bomber into a pint glass. Good pour with a thick and dense meringue-like head, complete with peaks. Big citrus hops mixed with sweet malts in flavor and aroma.

Bottle. Aroma almost IPA-like in citrus and tropically fruity malt, but toastiness starts to come out upon warming. Flavor definitely much more ESB-like with toast and burnt toast and restrained hop bitterness. Tropical fruits remain. On the thin side. Decent.

22 oz. bottle - pours very hazy and dark amber; white head fades with some minor lacing; mild malt aromas, well balanced flavors and drinks soooo smooth

[Bottle from Vinens Verden, shared with Alexander]. ESB is one of my favorite beers, so this was a wishlist beer. Dark, "roguetaste", of course bitter, soft, sourfruity and with a long nice bitter finish.
