Commercial Description:
Brutal combines Oregon hops with English Malts. The Oregon grown Crystal hop is a triploid variety developed from the German Hallertau aroma hop variety with contributions from Cascade, Brewers Gold, and Early Green. Crystal is the only hop used in brewing Brutal and it provides a massive amount of aroma without dry-hopping. The English malts used are floor malted Pipkin (a mellow cross of Maris Otter and Warboys, from an English company called Beeston), Cara Vienna and Cara Wheat.

12oz - A nice hop aroma balanced out with carmel malt and a little nuttiness. Pours cloudy orange-brown with nice quickly dissapating head leaving great lacing. Flavor is malt first, a little hazelnut, the the hops kick in. Palate is clean and smooth. A tasty brew.

Well made, although not very British in flavor. Pours a light orange in color, a bit hazy and with a perfect white head. Aroma is very bitterish, sulfur, malty, slightly grassy, slightly rotten, little tart. Flavor is pretty reminisent of an American pale, moderately bitter(but not aciditic) mixed with malty sweetness. Finish is very balanced upfront and slighty dry on the tail end.

22oz bottle sampled at the Rogue tasting at Blacklick Wine & Spirits. Color is copper/amber with a big off-white head. Aroma is overtly grapefruit/hop, with a touch of malty sweetness. Flavor is super hoppy with a nice malt balance on the back end. Tasty stuff!

Poured an orange-amber hue with a thin white head which had great lacing. Aoma was a mix of pine notes and orange notes but the pine notes were more pronounced. Flavor was mildly malty with a yeast forground finishing with a mix of hops and citrus fruits Decent body with a clean finish.

Bottle poured orange amber with a nice thick head. Aroma of hops and citrus. Flavor is light hops citrus, spice with a easy bitter hop sting on the palate. Good.

Beautiful clear amber with a small white head that fades too quickly into white lace. Sweet malt, bitter citrus hops, and a long bitter finish. I've had IPAs that were less hoppy; true bitters have less body and less malt. This is a lovely beer.

Bottle - Amber in colour with a slight haze. Fresh grassy and hoppy aroma with grapefruit and tea. Very hoppy and bitter taste with grapefruit and lemon. Very hoppy but not overwhelmingly so. Good stuff.

A little hazy dark golden colored beer, with a thick fast off white head. The aroma is hoppy bitter, with fruits like grapes. The taste is sparkling, with bitters and fruits, grapes with some orange. A little spices in the back. The aftertaste is bitter in a pleasant way with some notes of sweet.
