Rogue likes to go overboard with the hops and I welcome it wholeheartedly. The hazy orange color and unmistakable hoppy aroma sends one message to the drinker..."pucker up!" artvandelay (32), Ames, Iowa, USA

Pours a deep, somewhat hazy copper with a pillowy off-white head and thick lacing. Nose is piney hops with some biscuity malt. Taste is more hoppy than a traditional ESB, but maltier than a Pale Ale. Mouth-feel is smooth and finish is bitter. So far, my favorite beer from Rogue. Wish I could get this in a 6-pack. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA

Very pleasant nose with an apricot fruitiness and sweet juicy hoppiness about it. Taste is mild apricot and fruity, and more hoppy than expected for the style, but very welcomed as it makes this a fantastic ESB. Very drinkable and suprisingly good despite a quick finish. Easily one of Rogues best beers in my opinion. imjohnward (4), , Colorado, USA does not count | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Jun 25, 2008 An unforgettable glass. One of those experiences you remember everything that was going on when you first taste it. I enjoyed the rich flavors and tight aromas Cole (312), , Alberta, Canada

Flavor is very complex, a hint of orange. BUt for the most part this beer has lots of hops happening. It is well balanced the hop blend works really well. I think that calling it a "brutal" bitter is a bit of a stretch. I’ve had more bitter. Listigovers (103), Ontario, Canada

Not as bitter as many IPA’s, but sometimes IBU’s don’t matter. Malt often conceals the bitterness of a beer, but while the malt adds flavour to this brew, the hops shine through leaving a completely dry finish and forward flavour.
