Deep, highly aromatic nose of toasty bread and floral/piney hops.
Hops right from the start in the mouth, suggesting fairly sweet citrus. Also notes of toast and yeast, lemonl-like liveliness, and late arriving roasted malt. Hop character is one note and doesn’t evolve, perhaps because of the use of only one variety. Finish is soft, with the sweetness winning over the bitterness.
I love the freshness and balance of this beer, the latter being an aspect that surprised me given the name. This brew definitely could be a go-to for me. peridot (17), Alabama, USA

The beer is cloudy and golden with a nice, white head. The taste definitely doesn’t live up to the name--not brutal at all--but it’s very tasty in its own right. Lots of hop flavour, but not all that much bitterness. The finish is a little more brief than I’d like. Very smooth mouth-feel. I’m glad this has finally made it to Alabama. CharlieMopps (22), USA

I took my first sip waiting for the Brutality to start but it came only in a pleasant hoppiness. I don’t think I’d get this again because super hoppy beers are not my style, but anyone who likes IPAs will like this. Duster72 (117), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 20, 2007 Pours a cloudy amber color with a off white one finger head with decent retention. Aroma is mild bitter hops with some sweet breads and citrus. Taste is excellent with sweet malts playing off the hops bitterness perfectly. Smooth mouthfeel. Excellent drinkability, perfect session candidate. Awesome beer. rmussman (905), California, USA

Name kind of threw me for a loop as i expected something incredibly bitter but overall it just seemed like an IPA, with perhaps a bit more hops. Well worth a sample as its a fine crafted brew. American craft-brews at the LCBO?!!?!??!). Pours a hazy orange colour, with a very large and sticky beige-white head. Aroma: Hops, hops, hoppyness, with a tiny but evident caramalt backbone. Flavour: Hops, hoppyness, hop flavour, lots of hop presence, dry hops, wet hops, smooth, sweet, caramel. Hops. This is a pretty tasty brew, I must admit. I wonder how many times I can say hops in one rating. I really like this one, and am downright startled that it’s available at the LCBO. Hops. I can’t wait for the Dead Guy to show up! Hops. I really love the Vienna malts in this one! Hop shortage. They add a nice toffee-biscuity character to the taste that I tend to love in beer. Hops. I would stock pile this stuff if it weren’t so GOD DAMN expensive. I found this to be an alternative to the epic brew Liberty Ale by Anchor. Obviously whole fresh hops have been used in this wonderfully bitter and floral brew. I am impressed with the crystal hops. Has some precipitate in the bottle. Might be ok for my homebrew, but not sure this is the intention of a bottled blend.
Nice artwork on the painted bottles.
