Commercial Description:
Brutal combines Oregon hops with English Malts. The Oregon grown Crystal hop is a triploid variety developed from the German Hallertau aroma hop variety with contributions from Cascade, Brewers Gold, and Early Green. Crystal is the only hop used in brewing Brutal and it provides a massive amount of aroma without dry-hopping. The English malts used are floor malted Pipkin (a mellow cross of Maris Otter and Warboys, from an English company called Beeston), Cara Vienna and Cara Wheat.

This is so good, I cannot even begin to express how much I like this brew. It starts out with a fragrant floral aroma, with a mellow grapefruit, citrusy hoppy flavor that is smoothed out by a hazelnut/caramel esque flavor that I found to not be that bitter. Highly reccomended, this could quite possibly be one of the perfect beers

Rogue is greatest brewery in America, this bitter is a great demostration of that statement. Bitters are common, they are admired I believe because so many of us Americans go over to Europe or walk into a bar and usually try a bitter as our first foray into great beers. They are delicious and prove that corn and rice are not quality ingredients for beer. Rogue’s bitter defines what bitters are and could aspire to be. Like the other beers they create they do not just admire the style but put a definite mark on it with each variety they make. They take the time to mold this bitter to impart to the customer the delicous malt, subtle hops, and slight sweetness. Awesome stuff.

This is just a tasty beer. I have had 22 oz bottles and on tap. I have to admit on tap is awesome. The appearance, aroma and flavor blend together wonderfully. Start a Revolution!

Found this at B Flat Bar, Bangalore. Pours a cloudy orange with fantastic hop aromas. Not brutally bitter at all - the malt and hops are in perfect balance. Awesome beer from Rogue.

It pours a light yellow/orange color with a cloudiness to it. Nice off white head. The smell is very fruity/floral hops. The taste is very bitter, but not overwhelming, it’s more of a fruity/floral type of bitter. You can taste some of the alcohol and it has a nice bitter finish. Very impressive yet again from [in my opinion] one of if not the best brewery around.

This beer is great! I love sampling beers that I haven’t had before and this caught my eye. Brutal Bitter......Sounds interesting doesn’t it? very hoppy taste with citrus tones as well. I was very impressed when i took my first sip of the Brutal Bitter. I swallowed my sip, took a deep breath, and let it out slowly. An incredibly refreshing brew! Another winner put out by the good people at Rogue.
