Commercial Description:
Brutal combines Oregon hops with English Malts. The Oregon grown Crystal hop is a triploid variety developed from the German Hallertau aroma hop variety with contributions from Cascade, Brewers Gold, and Early Green. Crystal is the only hop used in brewing Brutal and it provides a massive amount of aroma without dry-hopping. The English malts used are floor malted Pipkin (a mellow cross of Maris Otter and Warboys, from an English company called Beeston), Cara Vienna and Cara Wheat.

Bottle in pint glass. Huge billowy cloud-like head on top of slightly cloudy, burnt-orange liquid; had to pour in three sessions to fit all in the glass. Great aroma of sweet citrus, honey and a hint of light evergreen. Initial taste is similar to aroma, but nicely balanced out by hop bitterness. Has the required bitter aftertaste for the English style, overall excellent beer, worth $9.50/six they charge here in TN. One of the best American bottled beers I have tasted, outside of home brew.

Floral, citrus, mild sweet malt, and caramel aroma notes. Hazy, copper-orange with a frothy lacing head. Grapefruit, balancing caramel, and mild touch of honey. Lasting bitter finish. A beauty.

22 oz. bottle - pours very hazy and dark amber; white head fades with some minor lacing; mild malt aromas, well balanced flavors and drinks soooo smooth

Almost like a mix between an IPA, a Saison, and a scottish ale. Cool stuff. Nice fruity, hoppy taste that also retains a good maltyness along with some caramel. Rogue kills it every time.

650 mL bottle. Clear golden honey color with fizzy white head. Aroma of hops and grain. Very bright palate. Sweet malty taste followed by a good bitter bite and a crisp finish.

Very nice brew. Aroma is a pretty combonation of floral hops and cassis with a touch of raspberry. The appearence of this fine bitter is a barely hazy medium orange with an average sized off-white head with great lacing. The taste rounds out a bit bitter and fruity. Goes down quite well.

Pours like cider with a light-tan head. Smells flowery/hoppy, like a heavy IPA. Tastes of citrus with the bitter hops. Not a bad beer.
