220z bomber. Yar! I love Sig Hansen and those crazy bastards who fish the Alaskan crabs. This is truly an under rated beer. Pours a lovely reddish brown with thick head that clings to the glass. The aroma is packed with complex hops and really abundant malt. Likewise the taste is full on..very evident hop bite but damn near perfectly married with a huge malt backbone. It’s rare that both the malt and hops linger so long after swallowing but...I can still taste both. This has a simply huge flavor profile for a beer of such relatively low alcohol content. I’ve tasted IIPA’s with less punch. Not sure why this beer is rated anything less than a 4. Grab some if you see it.

Bottle. Strange colour, almost a golden-brown. Head is small but lasting with a few oversized bubbles. Carbonation is almost perfect, right down the middle. The hop flavour is outstanding. Rogue really knows how to hop a beer. Malt flavour is complex. Lovely. Thanks Mark!

This was an interesting beer. Very flavorful with a good mouth feel but lingering taste. I would say it is a strong ale but I haven’t checked the style.

Pours the color of weak coffee with a white lasting head. Aroma is of hops and citrus. Flavor is muddy like the beer. Very dry, but there is a hint of chocolate and a mild astringency. The finish is bone dry and I keep belching as if I had a hop salad for dinner. Nice, but I find the ABV a tad lacking.

Bottle: Pours brown, surprising giant foam head. Aroma is quite sour but malty, I’m not finding much of the promised hops. Flavour brings them out - piney, citrusy, a little floral with hops, almost tea-like and just lightly sweet. Good, but 90 good? No, not 90 good.

Bottle. Burnt copper colour with a thick and dense tan cap of billowing foam. Aromas of caramel, toffee and burnt popcorn with a sweet note trying to break through.Bitter flavour with a long aftertaste and burnt flavours that come through. Smooth in the mouth and well balanced.

Sample shared with Savvy1982 and macadem, then bottle shared with myself. Pours a hazy red.orange. The head is initially large and leaves beautiful lacing down the glass. Aroma is overtly hoppy. Citrus, pine, resin, mustiness, and caramel. Ahhh, the sweet smell so fresh hops. Tastes very citrusy. Pine, citrus, caramel, resin, grapefruit, lemon, orange, tea, and earth. Nice mouth feel. Very nice tribute to a great fisherman.

Bottle. Shared with hobbersr and Macadem. Pours deep red, medium off-white head, pretty lacing. Nose is fresh hops, very Pacific-Northwest, big, citrussy, fresh, mild maltiness, very pretty. Palate is big and malty, very rich and potent, big hops are well-balanced against powerful maltiness. Very nice.
