Smells of hops, again no surprise no real shocking aroma on this. A very gentle flavor, tea, hops and malt make up the flavor. Good but not great, a decent IPA.

1pt6oz bottle. Pours a slightly hazy brownish orange with a long lasting soft fluffy head. Smells of piney, grassy hops and bread. Tastes very nicely balanced between good piney hops and earthy malts. Heavy bread crust flavor, somewhat spicy, balanced by a nice hop bitterness. Very good stuff.

Pours a very hazy deep red with a small head. After tasting this I couldn’t believe with all the hops in the flavor how remarkably muted the aroma is here, what is there is nice but there isn’t a lot there some mild fruitiness a light roastiness and some floral hops. The flavor is bracingly bitter and fairly unbalanced. There is a strong grapefruit character a little lemon zest some cherry and some citrus with a little roasty malt just trying to peak it’s head through. The palate is sharp and slightly slick. This was tasty enough; I may just drink it again.

Tap. Poured a dark amber with a nice beige head. Aroma of piney and fruity hops, sweet malt. Taste is also hoppy, though some sweet malt caramel and faint roasty notes as well. Mouth is pretty full with average carbonation. Overall, a decent hoppy ale from Rogue. Glad I tried fresh.

I am not the biggest fan of Rogue beers, but I thought this one was decent, although not outstanding. Alton Brown, in his "Good Eats" episode on chili, once called for a "middle of the road ale" as an ingredient. I thought this beer would be a fine candidate for such a name. This beer struck me as a decent amber ale, with a pretty nice balance of malt and hops, although not nearly as bitter as the 80 IBU statistic on the side of the bottle would suggest. It poured a hazy red-brown with a nice sticky head. Aroma was some light non-specific fruitiness, some light floral hopiness, and some cereal qualities. Flavor was more of the same, but was thankfully absent of cigarette smoke, coffee-breath, fishiness, and greasy-blond-mullet flavors (reference to the show). Mouthfeel was unremarkable. All-in-all, a decent but hardly superlative beer. I’m glad that my purchase of it is for a good cause. I bought this bottle at Jungle Jim’s in Fairfield, OH a few weeks back.

Pours a hazy brown red with a lingering light tan froth. Aroma is pretty sweet and malty with a caramel and toast quality to it over a sweet fruity hoppiness. Flavor has some sweet candylike characteristics in the start before gaining a bitter pine hop presence. Just a slight bit of a chocolate malt character with some sharp bitterness in the finish that lingers. Medium creamy body and an active carbonation. A bit too sweet and cloying for the hops to have a good presence. Not my favorite.

Poured a murky brown color with some red tints. The head was off-white and the lacing average. The initial aroma is pleasant citrus hops and some light caramel sweetness and chocolate dryness. The flavor was pretty one-dimensional with bitter pine hops ruling the day. Some lighter citrus and chocolate attempted to compete but were fairly well trampled by the time it was all over. Thin mouthfeel, super dry, clean finish.

This starts off with a nice pine hoppy aroma, but there’s something just a bit out of place there. Pours a nice reddish-amber, with a huge craggy light tan head. Quite a tasty beer, strong hop notes, with just a hint of caramel and chocolate in the back end, finishing long and bitter. Light on the palate, but quite a tasty beer.
