Surprised this is an IPA.. I took it for more of an APA. Notes of fig, caramelws malt, sharp pine hop, Overall, execellent. Definately simple in its approach but well refined. Bitter and spicey but retains a very sessionable mouthfeel. A great beer for both noobs and haxxors 3.55 SudsMcDuff (1703), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Aug 4, 2009 22oz - Nice hop nose, good first sip, finish is brutal. The bitter coating left on tongue ruins subsequent sips. I enjoy the show, not the beer. Palidor19 (1791), Brandon, Florida, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 2, 2009 16 ounce pint - $7.50 at Taco Mac in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Opaque, chestnut brown body with a ˝ inch head formed of whitish foam.
Smell: Toasty, pale maltiness, lightly roasty as well, and with some obscured sweetish hints nearly hidden beneath the citrusy, woody hop notes.
Taste: Base of standard pale along with distinctly toasty Munich and a smidgen of darker malts with some sweet touches of dark brown sugar and caramel. The hops largely provide a citric taste of white grapefruit with a sharp, brash bitterness, as well as, perhaps, a woodsy character. Light yeastiness. Finishes as dry and longly bitter as one might expect. Still remains a bit citric even in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. There’s some slight malt chewiness within.
Drinkability: It’s another boldly bitter, hop-forward offering from Rogue. If that tickles your fancy then hop on the boat! If not, well... glennmastrange (865), hobe sound, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 1, 2009 Updated: Aug 3, 2009Bottle. Moderate malt aroma of caramel, light resin and leather for the hops and yeast, with a hint of date in the background. Head is large, frothy, off-white with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is hazy, but sparkling red/tan. Flavor starts moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then the long finish is lightly acidic and heavily bitter. Palate is medium, watery with a lively carbonation and is moderately astringent. A little simple, but a surprisingly good Amber Ale. I almost didn’t buy this because Sig Hansen and his brother Edgar are such douche bags. scottw86 (184), Maryland, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 31, 2009 Poured a dark copper with a medium thick head. Hoppy aroma with hints of citrus and caramel malts. Taste is hoppy as well, and full of malt flavors. Not too complex, but a very good balance. Finish is smooth and not too bitter. jake65 (1725), Williston, North Dakota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 31, 2009 Bottle: Pours a dull copper color with a finger of creamy beige head. Lots of sticky lacing. First impression is full of hops, both florals and light citrus. The flavor comes through as floral hops with a moderate malt backbone. The first half of the glass is really hoppy and lively, it mellows out as it warms. No tricks here, just hops and malt. It does seem a bit pedestrian and could be described as ’just another Rogue ipa,’ but it does have a little more hop character than I remember. Drinkable, nonetheless.
