Hazed copper to brown in color liquid. Moderate and stable khaki colored head. Aromas of toasted bread, grass, pine needles and resin. Caramel in the front, that suddenly gets mixed with a load of hops. Very earthy flavors. Lots of toasted bread covered with hops juice. I get very little balance and the flavors do not mend the brokenness. Actually fairly dry in the finish and linger. A nice return of malt late in the linger saves a point, but for me these hoppy ambers usually do not work for me.

22 fl oz bottle@Olympen, Oslo. A cloudy, dark amber beer with a yellow tanned, lasting foamy head on top. Bold hop nose; fresh citrus and evergreen, backed by a whiff of light peppery caramellish malts. Strong, predominant hop flavor. Grapefruit, pine-needles, some floral notes and faint resin. Medium malt body, lightly toasted with mild spice notes. Filling. Feels oily in the mouth. Lasting, resinous bitterness in the finish. A nice and pretty hoppy one. Described as an India Red Ale, that makes sense.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Gilly’s, 6/13/09

Aroma: Malty nose, caramel, a bit floral
Appearance: Hazy reddish brown color, decent amount of head
Flavor: Taste is more balanced then the nose, caramel malts mixed with some floral hops, well balanced flavor
Palate: Medium to full bodied
Overall Impression: A pretty solid beer, not exactly sure how I would classify this one, though I wouldn’t have called it an Amber I don’t think.

Good sized off white head of dense and creamy bubbles. Settles slowly. Big hoppy aroma with some juniper, caramel malts and piney notes. Color is a nice crimson brown. Predominently dry and bitter flavor with lots of pine, roasted grains, as bit of caramel malts and this cherry/nutty flavor. Pretty good but also pretty bitter. Lingering bitterness and herbal flavors. A pretty good brew if you like hoppy beers.

This is a damn fine brew, different. Hoppy, with a sense of carmel, copper, and light chocolate malt. Nice amber, almost reminds me of an imperial amber. Lots of cascade hoppiness in the flavor with only hints of grapefruit, and plenty of yeast. I hope I’m still alive in the morning but you know what they say Red Sky At Night, Sailor’s Delight...

This has a great balanced aroma. Everything about the hops is balanced. Its very smooth, not weak at all. Nice sharp hop bitterness about half way through. This is a nice beer to sip on. And the fact that its dedicated to sig and his bro’s is even cooler.

Bottle at Olympen, kindly shared by OleR. Tobacco aroma, malty sweetness, fough hoppy dryness. A hop showcase, I don’t get the feel of all those maly elements.

Pours a hazy orange/brown with nice tan head. Aroma of pine hops, citrus, some caramel malt. Taste is strong resinous pine hops, some spice. Sticky mouthfeel. Another solid beer from Rogue, but definitely not a top 10 Rogue for me.
