Pours a beige head with legs and a copper-amber body. Smells of cascade hops. Flavor is fresh hops and malt sweetness with some lemon zest. Finish has a nice bitterness.

Tasting courtesy Butters 6th cellar reduction. Brown copper color. Cat piss and citrus nose. Plenty of hops and light malt as well. Bitter hoppy flavors. Hops are everywhere on this beer. Malt doesn’t show up on the palette until the finish. More balanced than I originally gave it credit for. It does have lingering flavors.Nice long finish. Hops dominate a little. But I dig it. Re-tasted, and have boosted the rating a touch from a 3.4 to a 3.6.

Bottle shared at the 6th Cellar Reduction. Hazy purpley with reddish highlights and wispy faint tan head. Nose is upfront huge citrus hops, like pineapple, and a little alcohol heat. Flavor is nicely bitter, but not too much malt backbone. Cool idea.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown hazy with a thick off white head. Nice citrus, floral hop aroma. Taste is bitter hop and caramel malt sweetness blending well together. Not sure what the style should really be, but good nonetheless.

1 pt. 6 fl. oz. bottle, as Rogue Captain Sig’s Northwestern Ale, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Hazy brown colour, huge light tan head. Nice aroma of fruity American hops (Horizon, Amarillo and Cascade). The flavour has a considerable malty sweetness with hints of caramel, which probably is necessary to balance the 80 IBU. The fruity and resinous hops add more to the flavour than just bitterness, but the finish is nonetheless quite bitter. Good stuff.

Bottled at Srbon, Bromma, Sweden. Pours out in a hazy dark amber colour with a fluffy tan-coloured foam. Dry ish grassy hoppy aroma with caramely and piney undertones. Medium-bodied with notes of caramel, crystal-malts, grass and grapefruit. Medium-bitter dryish finish of grapefruit, grass, crackers and mild spices.

The aroma is quite hoppy with both pine and citrus. It also has lots of caramel malt. The appearance is deep amber with a large head. The flavor is like the aroma and well balanced but quite bitter. The palate is smooth. Overall a nice beer.
