Bottle, labled Captain Sig’s Northwestern Ale. Poured a dark amber with a tall eggshell head. Aroma is primarily hops then some caramel malt and a slight floral note as it warms. Taste is sweet caramel malt with a healthy dose of hops bitterness, slightly nutty and grassy. Feels somewhat thin in the mouth but very drinkable.

One of the last beers I tried at beerfest. I don’t remember much. It said Northwestern Ale on the label.

This one is on the darker end of the reddish orange spectrum. Aroma is dominated by piney hops and chocolate malt. Very bitter tasting and rather thin with a touch of sweetness at the finish. Decent but not something I really want to drink again.

Hazy reddish/orange with thin head. Malty nose. Flavor was unexpectedly hoppy with little malt profile (light over the back of the tongue). Nothing outstanding.

murkey light brown from the yeast, looks like maritime fare. a bit of chemical/floral warm fermented lager nose. same in taste, with some nutty, faint dark chocolate, a bit of piney hop. palate was smooth enough, with bitterness cutting that pillowy, effervescent Rogue finish. Did not care too much for it, the yeast contribution and lack of hoppiness was dissapointing.

Amber red pour with off white, light head. Subdued fruity hop aroma. Flavor is malty, chocolatey, with some hops in the back. Pretty mild, nice amber.
