Bottle: Pours an amber gold color with a nice puffy head. The nose is fresh and hoppy with a citrusy bright pine note, not a usual characteristic for rogue beers. The flavor has a bit of "sameness" with the pacman thing but the hops spice it up and it feels a little more tropical (ironic) and fruity with a refreshing bitter bite in the tail. Nice balance and a solid body.

Sudsy head, like sea foam. Amber-red color. Sharp, roasty bite up front. Light body, with a sugary base. Very toasted and toffee-like. Some burnt, too. Plus a little faded wood in there. Hops are very earthy, damp, and herbal. Moderate bitterness. Interesting. Wholesome, in a rough sort of way.

Pours a hazy ruby brown with a largish beige head. The aroma is citrus and floral hops, with some sweet caramel malt. Nice flavor with a good deal of bitterness. Slightly dry cereal finish. Medium bodied with tingling carbonation. Not bad.

Hazy dark amber color with red hue; creamy head. The aroma shows caramel and a cheesy touch. The mouthfeel is quite smooth, with a good caramel flavor, strong nutty presence, light vanilla touch. Quite strong bitterness, and caramel finish. Well brewed, at the same time solid and dynamic, very good.

22oz bottle thanks to BrewDad. Pours a nice deep red color with a great thick fluffy off-white head. The aroma is full of rich caramel, lots of citrus PNW hops as well. A sweet flavor of caramel malts, tropical fruits, bitter pine and other hoppy variants of taste. Very tasty and quaffable. OK, let me get on my soapbox: this is a good beer that can stand alone without any gimmick or subterfuge. Alas, most of Rogue’s beers are this good, yet they still practice the dark arts of confusion and cheap parlor tricks. If your beer sucks, I would understand, unfortunately this is not so, so again, I plea: Rogue stop selling 150 versions of of Dead Guy, stop creating a false buzz about the new and locally created Leaning Tower of Pisa Ale- which is actually brewed in Oregon- wait, I just gave you guys an idea.Years from now my son will be on a European vacation and bring me back this amazing Italian beer he found, if this happens you are forewarned. Damn.
