Nov 5, 2009 Bottled. An amber beer with huge tan head. The aroma has strong notes of NW hops, lending it notes of grapefruit, combined with notes of nuts, caramel, and malt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, nuts, and caramel to start off making it almost chewy, but then the hops sets in with notes of grapefruit and grass, and making to finish very bitter.

Aroma is moderate to light heavy malty, caramel, nutty, chocolate notes, moderate to light heavy hoppy, grapefruity, citrus - orange, soap notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long to average duration, a peppery and dry finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090725]

Hazy dark amber color with red hue; creamy head. The aroma shows caramel and a cheesy touch. The mouthfeel is quite smooth, with a good caramel flavor, strong nutty presence, light vanilla touch. Quite strong bitterness, and caramel finish. Well brewed, at the same time solid and dynamic, very good.
