Creamy, caramelly aroma that is rich, sweet, vinous and has oak aged character. Hazy dark red body with a good sized tan head. Some good lace. Molasses aspect in the flavor. Pretty good, though not outstanding, which is about par for the course with Rogue. michael-pollack (2729), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 25, 2008 Draught: Aroma is fruity. Smells of fruits, citrus, pine, and floral hops. Poured amber/orange in color with a medium-sized, creamy, off-white head that diminished quickly. Hazy. Very lightly sparkling. No lacing. Flavor of alcohol, bitter hops, floral hops, and smarties. Medium body. Sticky, tingly, lightly thin texture. Average carbonation. Dry, bitter, alcohol finish. Too much alcohol in the flavor. blankboy (3250), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 25, 2008 Draught at Cole’s, Buffalo, NY. Pours a hazy amber-orange with an average size off-white head. Mild aroma of equal parts malt and hops along with some light fruit and sweetness. Flavour’s simple, very bitter with some alcohol and a long bitter finish. Average to medium bodied. Nothing bad about this, it’s just so simple it seems like what’s the point? Still, it’s not a bad beer. HogTownHarry (4025), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 23, 2008 Draught. At Cole’s, Buffalo. Clear amber with an average off-white head. Decent aroma, sweet light roast, plenty of bitterness, like crushed appleseed. The taste - just too aggressively bitter and alcoholic for me, the malt is totally overwhelmed and the bitterness is not a pleasant sort - very normal body and to astringent - the bitterness lingers too long too. Not impressed. jerc (3954), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 18, 2008 2008-02-16. On tap @ Cole’s in Buffalo. Dark amber brown body with a small off-white beige head. Sweetish, lightly caramel aroma. Similar flavour of sweet caramel malt, balancing bitterness throughout. Pretty solid and quaffable, but I had hoped for more complexity - lacks sufficient depth for a return visit. Perhaps I should have warmed it up further? Smooth average to medium palate. 7/3+/3/7+/15-16 AlabastorJones (766), San Francisco, California, USA
